The Dress Emma Stone Wore to the Oscars Took 600 Hours To Create
Emma Stone moved away from the sharp corporate styles seen in her latest film, Bugonia, to embrace a classic aesthetic at the 98th Academy Awards. The actress arrived on the red carpet in a white Louis Vuitton gown that shimmered with an ethereal quality, featuring a square neckline and an open back.
A standout detail of the custom creation was the cap sleeves, which added an architectural touch to the delicate sequined fabric. According to reports from the red carpet, the intricate gown required over 600 hours of craftsmanship to complete.
She accessorized the look with diamond huggie earrings and a matching ear cuff from Repossi, which were visible beneath her copper-colored bob. To complement the silver tones of her dress, her makeup featured soft white eyeshadow, long lashes, and a warm peach lip.

Stone attended the ceremony as a nominee for Best Actress, marking her fourth acting nomination in that category and her seventh Oscar nomination overall across her career. If she were to win for her role in Bugonia, she would join an elite group of only three women who have ever secured three Best Actress trophies.
The actress previously won for her leading roles in La La Land and Poor Things, and she has often utilized the red carpet to showcase daring Louis Vuitton designs throughout her various awards campaigns.
While Stone has found immense success during the awards season, she recently reflected on the fact that the most meaningful parts of the experience happen away from the cameras.
My favorite moments are in-between—riding together in a van, being with the crew, she shared in an interview with Elle earlier this year. She noted that the Oscars serve as a final farewell to the collaborative process of a project, adding, If you have the honor of getting there, of attending the Oscars, it’s the end of the road for a film. That part is emotional and special.

The film Bugonia has been a major highlight of the cinema season, reuniting Stone with her frequent collaborator, director Yorgos Lanthimos. The story follows two men who kidnap a high-powered pharmaceutical CEO, played by Stone, under the bizarre belief that she is an alien visitor planning to destroy the Earth.
The sci-fi black comedy also stars Jesse Plemons and Alicia Silverstone and is based on the 2003 South Korean cult classic Save the Green Planet!. Stone’s career is currently moving into a busy new phase, as she recently completed filming the romantic comedy The Catch, which was directed by her husband, Dave McCary.
The movie features Stone in a leading role alongside Chris Pine and marks a return to the genre where she first found mainstream success. Additionally, there are reports that she is preparing to produce and potentially star in a new project focused on the iconic Muppet character Miss Piggy.
As she continues to balance her work in front of the camera with her growing list of producing credits through her company, Fruit Tree, Stone remains a dominant force in the industry.
Her professional partnership with Lanthimos is also expected to continue, with several secretive adaptations reportedly in the early stages of development. Between her record-breaking award nominations and her upcoming comedic ventures, Stone shows no signs of slowing down.
