Hilary Duff has opened up about a strange family activity she jokingly calls the “disgusting food game,” saying it has become a regular part of life at home with her children.

She spoke about it during a recent appearance on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, hosted by Josh Scherer. During the interview, Duff was introduced as the “inventor” of the game, a label she accepted with humor and did not push back on.

The game started with her oldest son Luca, 13, and his friends. The idea is to take random items from the kitchen and mix them into the most unpleasant food bite possible. The challenge is then to eat it without reacting badly.

Duff explained that the main focus is endurance. She said, “You design the grossest bite of food possible… and then feed it to each other, and it’s all about who can keep it down.” She added that failure is simple, saying, “If you spit that out, you are a loser. You have not won.”

She described how the combinations are made on purpose to be extreme. The goal is to shock the person eating it with strange textures and strong or unusual flavor mixes. She said the point is to create something so unpleasant that the other person struggles to finish it.

During the interview, Duff also took part in a version of the game with the host. They built their own food combinations using a mix of ingredients, some of them very unusual. The experiment led to quick reactions as they tried different bites and guessed what was inside them.

At one point, Duff tried to identify what she was eating and picked out ingredients like fish and a sweet soda element. She later learned one of her bites included crickets and reacted strongly, saying, “You are such an a*****! There are so many crickets in my mouth.”

Even with the shocking combinations, Duff stayed in good spirits and laughed through the experience. She also said she would be open to doing it again.

Outside the game, Duff is a mother of four. She shares her children Luca, Banks, Mae, and her youngest with her husband Matthew Koma.

This is a harmless but very strange way for a family to have fun together. It shows how different families bond in their own way, even if the activity sounds extreme. What do you think about this kind of game? Share your opinion in the comments.
