This reflection was sparked by a frustrating incident in her Los Angeles art studio, where a visiting film crew requested that a nude portrait be moved out of sight during a tour. The painting, titled The Goddess, serves as a focal point for Stone’s critique of modern double standards.
“We are afraid of nudity on our screens, our bodies, our home… but not violence or every other thing we are constantly bombarded with day in and day out? Get real!” she remarked. Standing before the large-scale work, she urged her followers to reconsider their relationship with the mirror, questioning why looking at one’s own reflection should ever be a source of anxiety.
Stone offered a grounded perspective on self-acceptance by comparing her physical self to a living space. “Excuse me, I wear it every day. I get up in it. I go to sleep in it. It’s my apartment.
