Amy Schumer (44) Posts Bold Swimsuit Photo Following Split From Chris Fischer
Amy Schumer is embracing a bold new chapter. The I Feel Pretty star recently shared a striking image on her Instagram Story on March 31, posing in a deep red swimsuit and dark glasses. She accompanied the photo with a playful caption, asking her followers, “Thirsty enough for ya?”
This display of confidence comes following her December announcement that she and her husband, Chris Fischer, were ending their seven-year marriage. Schumer has consistently been open about her personal evolution, particularly regarding her health and significant physical transformation.
After being diagnosed with Cushing syndrome in 2024, she addressed the reality of her fifty-pound weight loss. In a social media post late last year, the 44-year-old clarified that her change in appearance was motivated by health rather than vanity.

She explained that she pursued the weight loss “to survive,” noting that the hormonal condition had caused dangerous physical symptoms. She wrote, “I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy and can kill you, but the internet caught it, and that disease has cleared.”
Cushing syndrome involves chronically high levels of cortisol, which can lead to severe complications if left unmanaged. Schumer attributed her results to several factors, including previous cosmetic procedures and the use of the medication Mounjaro. However, she was candid about her negative experiences with other weight loss drugs like Ozempic.
During a 2025 interview on The Howard Stern Show, she revealed that the side effects of that specific medication were debilitating. She described feeling completely drained and unable to function normally, recalling, “I was bedridden. I was vomiting, and then you have no energy. But other people take it, and they’re all good, so god bless them.”
The physical toll also impacted her ability to engage with her six-year-old son, Gene. She remembered a heartbreaking moment when she was too weak to join him for a game of tag, feeling as though she was “shriveling.” Ultimately, she decided that the aesthetic benefits did not outweigh the loss of her quality of life.
She summarized the experience by saying, “I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great, and I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, so what’s the point?” Since recovering her health, Schumer has declared a year of self-care and has remained active in the industry.
One of her most recent projects, the comedy Kinda Pregnant, was a major streaming success last year, and she continues to develop new material for her stand-up tours. Between her film roles and her commitment to raising awareness for women’s health issues like endometriosis and perimenopause, her schedule for the remainder of the year is packed.
