Meet the Cast of ‘Carrie’ on Amazon Prime (With Photos)
The Prime Video series ‘Carrie’ arrives on October 7, with all eight episodes releasing together in more than 240 countries and territories. It is also the first time Stephen King’s debut novel has been adapted as a television series, with Mike Flanagan serving as showrunner.
The ‘Carrie’ cast blends rising young performers with actors who have worked in Flanagan’s world before. The story follows a misfit high schooler who has spent her life hidden away with her fiercely protective mother until her father’s sudden death sends her into public school. There she faces a viral bullying scandal, the pressures of the social media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers.
Summer H. Howell

Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, the title role, which was cast after an extensive search that saw nearly 1,500 actors read. She was confirmed in the part alongside Siena Agudong, who was cast as her nemesis, Sue Snell.
Howell arrives with a growing list of genre credits. Her earlier work includes ‘Cult of Chucky’ and the Hallmark film ‘Crashing Through the Snow’, and she has also appeared in ‘Hunter Hunter’ and ‘Channel Zero’.
Her Carrie is an isolated teenager whose telekinetic abilities emerge amid relentless bullying. The series frames the story around kindness versus cruelty, and it leaves open whether viewers are watching the making of a hero, a monster, or something harder to define.
Samantha Sloyan

Samantha Sloyan plays Margaret White, Carrie’s domineering mother. The character is described as deeply religious, with a controlling presence that has kept her daughter sheltered from the world around her.
Sloyan is a familiar face to Flanagan’s audience. She is a frequent collaborator, with roles in ‘Gerald’s Game’ and in Flanagan’s series ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, ‘The Midnight Club’, ‘Midnight Mass’ and ‘The Haunting of Hill House’.
Prime Video also points to her recent work on ‘The Pitt’ when introducing the cast. She was among the actors who joined the project in June 2025, alongside Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti and Joel Oulette.
Siena Agudong

Siena Agudong plays Sue Snell. Her casting was first announced with Howell’s, and Sue was described at the time as Carrie’s nemesis. More recent descriptions place Sue as a classmate caught in the moral consequences of the cruelty directed at Carrie.
Her screen credits include ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Star Falls’. That experience gives the production a young lead who has already worked across genre material.
Joel Oulette is tied closely to her storyline as Tommy Ross. Tommy is Sue’s boyfriend and another crucial figure in the chain of events leading toward Carrie’s defining night, and Oulette is known for ‘My Life with the Walter Boys’.
Alison Thornton

Alison Thornton plays Chris Hargensen. Her character’s hostility toward Carrie places her directly within the escalating school conflict.
Thornton brings experience from television dramas. She previously appeared in ‘School Spirits’, and Prime Video also credits her work on ‘Fire Country’.
Chris’s family is part of the picture as well. Michael Trucco is listed as John Hargensen, Chris’s wealthy lawyer father, and Arthur Conti plays Billy Nolan, an actor known for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’.
Matthew Lillard

Matthew Lillard plays Principal Grayle. He entered talks to join the cast on May 1, 2025, and was confirmed the following month.
Lillard sits at the front of the show’s school side promotion. Prime Video shared seven yearbook style portraits of the Ewen High students and staff, led by Howell as Carrie White and Lillard as the principal. Prime Video lists ‘Man of Tomorrow’ among his recent credits.
The wider ensemble is deep. Amber Midthunder of ‘Prey’ plays Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah of ‘The Buccaneers’ plays Tina, and Thalia Dudek of ‘The Running Man’ plays Emaline, while guest stars include Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli and Heather Graham. With so many students and adults orbiting Carrie White, which character at Ewen High do you think will carry the most weight when the night everyone fears finally arrives, and does Lillard’s Principal Grayle feel like the right authority figure for that school?
