Selena Gomez’s Rare Impact Fund Benefit has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most meaningful nights out. Since the fund launched in 2020 alongside Rare Beauty, Gomez has turned her mental health advocacy into a growing yearly event that brings out friends, supporters, and famous faces.

This year’s edition, themed “A Night of Radiance & Reflection,” took place on October 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Sean Hayes served as emcee, with performances from Leon Bridges and Bella Kay.

One guest drew particular attention: Katy Perry. In a Getty photo shared by JumpTrailers, Perry and Gomez posed together inside the venue under the evening’s red lighting, smiling at the camera as they stood close together.

The 2 stars offered a striking contrast in style. Perry wore all black, while Gomez had changed out of the red look she wore earlier into a softer champagne slip dress embellished with delicate floral appliqués.

Perry wore the “Ambrosia Dress” by luxury label Ilkyaz Ozel. The floor-length black column gown had a plunging sweetheart neckline, thin shoulder straps, and 2 diamond-shaped cutouts at the midriff, each finished with a sparkling white bow.

She kept the rest of the look simple, pairing the dress with small diamond drop earrings and no necklace. Her sleek, straight black hair was parted in the center, with soft smoky eyes and a warm nude lip completing the look.

Perry made clear that the night was about more than fashion. Speaking with Extra TV on the red carpet, she said she wanted to support Gomez and the work she’s doing, and said it’s important for women in the spotlight to use their visibility for good.

She also stressed that mental health matters and said her own foundation’s mission closely aligns with Gomez’s program. She added that she came to learn more about the Rare Impact Fund. Perry also chatted about Halloween plans with her 6-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she shares with Orlando Bloom.

Earlier in the evening, Gomez arrived on the pink carpet in a custom red Prada set: a strapless top covered in red beads and sequins with a matching fitted, ankle-length skirt. She accessorized with Bucherer jewelry, including Baguette Love earrings and the Inner Fire ring.

The switch to the champagne dress inside gave the night 2 distinct looks: bold red for the cameras outside, then a softer, glowing gown for the celebration inside. The benefit raises money for youth mental health, a cause Gomez has championed for years.

The Rare Impact Fund aims to raise $100 million for organizations expanding access to youth mental health services and education worldwide, and it has raised more than $30 million so far.

“One of the things I’ve learned through this work is how much it can mean for a young person to have someone in their corner,” Gomez said in the official announcement of the benefit. The fund now supports 30 nonprofit partners across 5 continents and reaches about 3.5 million young people each year.

The benefit has grown quickly since its debut in 2023. Last year’s event raised more than $2 million, and this year’s host committee included Benny Blanco, Becky G, and Pacsun CEO Brieane Olson.

Perry’s appearance added more star power to an evening built around community. Having a fellow pop star show up and speak openly about mental health helps bring the cause to an even wider audience.

Perry and Gomez’s photo together is a reminder of how much support matters, both on stage and off. Their shared commitment to mental health made the moment feel personal as well as glamorous.

As the Rare Impact Fund keeps growing, nights like this show the kind of community Gomez has built around her mission, with friends like Perry willing to show up and speak out.
