‘The Testaments’ Star Chase Infiniti Makes a Bold Statement in Striped Louis Vuitton at the Academy Museum Gala
Few rising stars have owned the red carpet quite like Chase Infiniti, and her Academy Museum Gala history proves it. At last year’s 5th annual event, her Louis Vuitton gown was widely singled out as one of the night’s best looks, with some critics saying it looked more than ready for Oscars Sunday.
That moment kicked off a remarkable run. Infiniti broke out in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Regina Hall, earning Best Actress nominations at the BAFTAs, the Golden Globes, the Academy Awards and the Critics Choice Movie Awards.
Her fashion choices made her one of the awards season’s most compelling dressers. Working with styling duo Wayman and Micah, she has gravitated toward structured bodices, shoulder-baring silhouettes and fabrics like silk, tulle and velvet.
She became a Louis Vuitton ambassador last December, and a friendship with Nicolas Ghesquière means she is almost always dressed by the French house. For her first Academy Awards in March, she chose a lilac sleeveless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a cascade of tiered ruffles, accessorized with De Beers jewelry.
Now Infiniti has returned to the event that helped launch her fashion reputation. At the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala on October 17, she posed on the carpet in a bold new look.

Once again, she wore Louis Vuitton. The strapless gown featured a fitted black-and-white striped bodice cinched with a black waistband, flaring into a dramatic peplum tier before falling into a sweeping, pleated skirt.
The graphic stripes gave the silhouette an architectural, almost sculptural quality as she moved. Infiniti kept her beauty sleek, pairing a polished updo with a deep, dark lip that matched the gown’s high-contrast palette.
The structured look fits squarely within her signature style. It also echoes her love of peplum shapes, which she embraced earlier this year in a two-piece Alaïa look and a Christopher John Rogers top paired with palazzo pants.
The gala, often called the “Met Gala of the West,” raises funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. This year’s edition honored Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award, and John Carpenter with the Luminary Award, with Taylor Swift set to perform.

Its October timing, right after Fashion Month, means guests often arrive in fresh-off-the-runway designs. Infiniti joined a packed guest list that included Swift, Gemma Chan, Clairo and Common, among many others.
Infiniti’s red carpet confidence is matched by a busy career. She stars in Hulu’s ‘The Testaments’, the sequel series to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, which premiered on April 8 and casts her as the daughter of Elisabeth Moss’ character.
The role has brought its own accolades. Infiniti picked up an acting prize at the 2026 Gotham TV Awards, adding to her Breakthrough Performance honor from the National Board of Review earlier this year.

At just 25 during this year’s Oscars, Infiniti has already built a reputation for taking fashion risks that pay off. Her return to the Academy Museum Gala showed a more graphic, modern side of her style while staying loyal to the brand that has defined her red carpet era. With awards season approaching again, her striped Louis Vuitton moment may be an early sign of the bold looks still to come.
