‘Obsession’ Star Inde Navarrette and Odessa A’Zion Bring Gothic Glamour to Giorgio Armani’s Academy Gala After-Party
The Academy Museum Gala has become one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights of the fall, and this year’s festivities stretched well beyond the red carpet for Inde Navarrette and Odessa A’zion. The 2 rising stars were among the many young names who turned up at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Saturday, October 17, as the industry gathered to celebrate and preserve cinema.
Their weekend actually started a night earlier. Both actresses joined Colman Domingo and W Magazine for a pre-gala dinner with Boucheron at Bar Di Bello, an evening that featured pasta, catch-ups, and an impromptu dance party sparked by Domingo himself. Once the gala wrapped, the party moved on, and a new photo of the pair at Giorgio Armani’s Academy Gala After Party quickly caught fire online.
The photo has an almost cinematic, old-world feel, with the duo posing against carved stone walls. Navarrette wears a black slip with delicate lace trim and her signature sleek dark hair, while A’zion leans in beside her with voluminous curls, a bold red lip and stacked rings.

Both women had already made an impression on the gala red carpet. Navarrette wore Schiaparelli fall couture with Chopard jewelry, styled by Enrique Melendez, and earned a spot on WWD’s best-dressed list for the night.
A’zion, meanwhile, leaned into the evening’s Armani connection by wearing an archival Giorgio Armani look. She was photographed among fellow guests including Chloë Grace Moretz, Emmy Rossum and Emily Bader.
Part of what makes the photo so intriguing for fans is the Marvel chatter surrounding both stars. Over the summer, competing rumors suggested the 2 actresses were each in the running to play Rogue in Marvel’s upcoming ‘X-Men’ reboot.
Scooper Jeff Sneider claimed A’zion was being considered for the role, while another online report pointed to Navarrette. Later coverage suggested that Navarrette’s conversations with Marvel and director Jake Schreier may have centered on Mystique instead, leaving fans to speculate about whether both could eventually land in the same mutant ensemble.

Nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel. Still, seeing the pair side by side has only fueled excitement among those hoping to see them share the screen. Navarrette is riding high off the success of ‘Obsession’, the horror film that became one of the year’s breakout hits and reportedly earned around $400 million.
Focus Features launched an awards campaign for her performance this fall, and she was also named one of Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch. Her momentum isn’t slowing down. She is set to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ on October 31, with Gracie Abrams as the musical guest.
A’zion has been enjoying her own breakthrough year. She earned an Academy Awards nomination for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture as part of the ‘Marty Supreme’ ensemble and voices Nikki Baxter in ‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’.
The Academy Museum Gala drew A-listers like Taylor Swift, Charlize Theron and Kate Hudson, but much of the online buzz focused on the industry’s newest wave of stars. Navarrette and A’zion embodied that energy, blending high fashion with an effortlessly cool, after-hours vibe. Whether they end up sharing a Marvel set or simply the occasional party photo, the pair’s moody snapshot has given fans plenty to talk about heading into awards season.
