‘Yaga’ Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview

‘Yaga’ reaches streaming this week, with its first two episodes arriving on Friday, Oct. 23. The series reimagines the Slavic legend of Baba Yaga as a modern mystery, and it is based on the hit play by Kat Sandler, who also serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

This guide covers the ‘Yaga’ release date, what is known about the release time, where viewers can watch in the United States and abroad, and what the early preview material reveals. The series also carries extra interest because AMC described it as the first role for Hudson Williams after his breakout in ‘Heated Rivalry’.

‘Yaga’ Release Date and Episode Schedule

Crave first teased only an October window, and the exact date was confirmed ahead of the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The show opens with a double episode premiere, which gives viewers a fuller introduction to the central mystery than a single episode would.

After that, new episodes will debut on Fridays, with a two episode finale on Friday, November 27. The season runs eight episodes in total, and each installment is a half hour drama.

The rollout began before the streaming debut. The series held its world premiere on September 17 at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a panel with exclusive content at New York Comic Con on October 9.

‘Yaga’ Release Time on Premiere Day

The announcements reviewed for this piece confirm the date but do not give a specific time of day for the premiere. Viewers hoping to watch right as the episodes go live should check the Crave or AMC+ app on October 23 for the exact moment they appear.

The sources do make one point clear about timing. The premiere lands on the same day on Crave in Canada and AMC+ in the United States. That settles an earlier question, since one outlet had noted it was unclear whether the two platforms would release the series concurrently.

There is also extra content to follow the weekly schedule. Crave is launching an official companion podcast on premiere day, with new episodes arriving each week on the streamer’s YouTube channel.

Where to Watch ‘Yaga’ in the US and Abroad

For American viewers, the answer is simple. ‘Yaga’ will be available exclusively on AMC+ in the United States, after AMC Global Media acquired the series for its streaming service. It will not air as a traditional broadcast series on the AMC network.

In its home country, the series streams on Crave. The production comes from Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Bell Media, and it was filmed in British Columbia.

Viewers in the United Kingdom have an option as well. Sky reported that the show will be available on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland. A Bell Media executive described the series as bold, genre defying storytelling that travels.

‘Yaga’ Preview, Cast and Story Setup

The official synopsis centers on Rapp, a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park. He soon meets an apprehensive local detective named Carson and a university professor named Katherine. The mystery then widens into secret lives and ancient magic.

The cast is led by Noah Reid, Clark Backo, Hudson Williams and Carrie-Anne Moss. Williams plays a dual role as Henry Park and Logan. Sandler and Moss are executive producers alongside Mackenzie Donaldson and Andrew Miller, with David Frazee and Rachel Talalay co directing.

The preview material leans into unease. The trailer promises that a voice will haunt you and uses disturbing imagery, though it never shows who Baba Yaga is. An extended first look at the premiere episode also introduced Carson and Rapp.

The source material has a modest origin. Sandler has said it began as a play with a cast of three in a 200 seat theater. With a feminist take on Slavic folklore now heading to a much larger audience, do you think a mystery built around Baba Yaga can hold up across all eight episodes, and who do you suspect is behind Henry Park’s disappearance?
