David Harbour has become one of the MCU’s most entertaining wild cards. First introduced as Red Guardian, the father figure to Yelena and Natasha in ‘Black Widow’, the actor returned in ‘Thunderbolts*’ and is now set to reunite with his teammates in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which features one of the largest casts Marvel has ever assembled.

Harbour has also developed a reputation for keeping fans guessing about the film. Back in August, Variety asked him to share a line from ‘Doomsday’, and he responded in Red Guardian’s Russian accent with a line about Tony Stark, sparking a wave of speculation about the connection between Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and his former MCU character.

The comment quickly went viral, but Harbour has since insisted it wasn’t a real spoiler. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, the actor appeared startled when confronted with the quote, suggesting outlets had made it up and saying the Tony Stark line isn’t something he says in the film.

He also revealed that his ‘Thunderbolts*’ co-star Wyatt Russell sent him an article claiming he had ruined the movie. Harbour apologized just in case he had said it, but maintained that the line he actually recalled giving Variety was a simple countdown.

Now Harbour has doubled down on that teaser. As MCU Film News shared, the actor revealed a Red Guardian line from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ during an appearance at Comic Con Brussels: “Five, four, three, two, one.”

The moment, captured in a clip shared by the convention on Instagram, shows Harbour on stage fielding questions about the upcoming crossover. His playful delivery once again left fans wondering what the countdown could be building toward.

Harbour previously told ScreenRant that he counts down from 5 at one point in the film and that something very important happens right afterward. He even jokingly called it a big spoiler.

Fans have already started theorizing about the context. Some have joked that something is about to explode, while others believe the countdown could be tied to a major turning point in the story.

Some viewers have also suggested that the earlier Tony Stark line might belong to a different character rather than Red Guardian. Marvel has not confirmed either version, and Variety’s original August article remains online.

Harbour’s character is set to appear alongside the rest of the New Avengers, including Florence Pugh’s Yelena, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky and Russell’s John Walker. They’ll be joined by Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, the Fantastic Four and members of the original Fox-era X-Men.

With so many heroes sharing the screen, any confirmed detail about an individual character’s role is sure to draw attention. Harbour’s countdown suggests Red Guardian may play a key part in at least one major moment.

Harbour isn’t the first Marvel star to playfully toe the line with spoilers. Whether he’s genuinely confused about the Tony Stark comment or simply having fun with fans, his teases have added another layer of intrigue to the film’s marketing. For now, the only way to know what follows that countdown is to see the film itself. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arrives in theaters on December 18.
