Netflix’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Trailer Puts Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden at the Center of a Candlelit Slow Burn
Few love stories have been retold as often as Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, and yet audiences keep coming back for more. Netflix’s upcoming ‘Pride and Prejudice’ limited series is betting that a new generation is ready to fall for Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy all over again.
The project was confirmed in April 2025, with Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden and Olivia Colman announced as its leads. Since then, Netflix has slowly teased the adaptation, from a first teaser in February 2026 to fresh character looks in September.
Now Netflix has released the first full trailer for the series, and it’s the most substantial look yet at the Regency romance. Running 2 minutes and 19 seconds, the footage opens with the novel’s famous line about a truth universally acknowledged.
The trailer then finds Corrin’s Elizabeth and Freya Mavor’s Jane lying on a rooftop, talking about the future. From there, it introduces the chaotic Bennet household, a very animated mother, and the arrival of wealthy bachelors who throw the family’s world into upheaval.
One standout moment shows Lizzie and Darcy locked in a tense, close exchange in a candlelit ballroom. Early reactions have described the chemistry between the 2 leads as poetic and enigmatic. Corrin stars as Elizabeth Bennet, with Lowden playing the proud Mr. Darcy. Colman takes on the role of the marriage-obsessed Mrs. Bennet, while Rufus Sewell plays Mr. Bennet.

The Bennet sisters are rounded out by Mavor as Jane, Rhea Norwood as Lydia, and newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery in their screen debuts as Mary and Kitty. Daryl McCormack plays Mr. Bingley, with Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley.
Louis Partridge takes on the role of Mr. Wickham, Jamie Demetriou plays the pompous Mr. Collins and Fiona Shaw appears as Lady Catherine de Bourg. The ensemble also includes Anjana Vasan, Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy, and Rosie Cavaliero.

The series comes from bestselling author Dolly Alderton, known for ‘Everything I Know About Love’, who wrote all 6 episodes. Euros Lyn, who directed ‘Heartstopper’, is behind the camera.
Netflix has described the adaptation as faithful to the novel, preserving its social commentary and wit while including some thoughtful creative turns. Alderton has explained that readers return to the book to see their own hearts reflected, from family embarrassment to the fear of being left behind or misjudged.

Corrin also makes their debut as an executive producer on the project. Reflecting on why the story feels timely, Corrin told Netflix Tudum, “Love is what the world needs right now.” The trailer arrives during a busy stretch for Austen fans. Viewers were recently reintroduced to the Dashwood sisters through a new adaptation of ‘Sense and Sensibility’, and now Mr. Darcy is next in line.
Of course, any new take on the story will face comparisons to beloved past versions. Austen adaptations tend to be judged on their leads, and Corrin and Lowden are stepping into some of the most famous roles in period drama.
All 6 episodes of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ arrive on Netflix on December 3. The series is produced by Lookout Point, with executive producers including Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter alongside Alderton, Lyn and Corrin.
The early December launch positions the show as a cozy holiday binge for romance fans. Judging by the trailer’s sun-drenched countryside and candlelit tension, it could become a seasonal favorite.
