Jimmy Fallon and Jamie Lee Curtis Nail Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes in a ‘You Can See Everything’ Spoof
Few films this fall have taken over pop culture like ‘You Can See Everything’. The A24 documentary from Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim follows Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the weeks before she began an 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors, and it has quickly become the movie everyone is talking about.
Made in secret over more than 3 years, the nearly 3-hour film has been a critical and commercial surprise. It holds a 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 99 on Metacritic, and its awkward, unsettling conversations between Fielder and Holmes have become prime material for comedians.
The latest parody comes from ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’. In Wednesday night’s cold open, Fallon played Fielder while guest Jamie Lee Curtis transformed into Elizabeth Holmes for a 90-second spoof of the film.
Curtis wore a blonde wig and adopted Holmes’ distinctive voice, while Fallon copied Fielder’s deadpan interviewing style. The bit was based on a conversation between Fielder and Holmes that also anchored the documentary’s teaser trailer.
Fallon kept pressing Curtis on whether she really wanted to be on the show. She insisted she loved talking to him and claimed she was simply engaging with him as a human being, not there to promote anything.

The joke built toward one of the film’s most memorable moments. When Fallon asked whether she was being real with him, Curtis answered with Holmes’ line from the movie, “I’m always being real.” The payoff came as soon as Fallon walked away. Curtis dropped the act, shouted with relief, and muttered a bleeped insult under her breath, getting a big laugh.
The sketch also nodded to Curtis’ real reason for being there. She was on the show promoting ‘Newlyweds’, the NBC sitcom she co-created, which premiered on October 23 and stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly.

Fallon and Curtis aren’t the first late-night stars to have fun with the film. About a month earlier, Kate McKinnon did her own Elizabeth Holmes impression on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’, re-enacting lines from the trailer during an interview.
The steady stream of parodies shows how far the documentary has spread beyond its typical arthouse audience. Fielder’s large online following and Holmes’ famously strange persona have helped turn it into a genuine cultural moment.
The film’s success at the box office has been just as striking. ‘You Can See Everything’ opened on October 16 with about $15 million from just 855 screens, finishing second behind ‘Street Fighter’ and selling out more than 2,000 showings.
That was the biggest opening for a film on fewer than 1,000 screens since ‘Borat’, and the largest debut for a non-music documentary since ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’. More than 70% of the opening-weekend audience was under 35.

The film has since grossed more than $45 million domestically. Reported to have cost under $7 million to make, it has become one of the year’s most profitable surprises, and industry observers admit almost everyone underestimated it.
Much of the documentary’s appeal comes from the strange tension between Fielder and Holmes, and Fallon and Curtis captured it well. Their spoof leaned into the awkward silences, careful denials, and nervous energy that made the real exchanges so compelling.
As the film keeps drawing crowds, it’s likely more comedians will take their shot at the Fielder-Holmes dynamic. For now, Fallon and Curtis have delivered one of the most convincing impressions yet.
