New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Art Divides Marvel’s Heroes Into Teams Against Doctor Doom
Marvel is pushing hard on ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as its December 18 release gets closer. The Russo brothers’ film brings heroes from across the multiverse together against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, and almost every new piece of marketing has played up how many teams are involved.
That scale has been the selling point from the start. Former Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park previously shared concept art showing the MCU heroes, the Fantastic Four from ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ and the X-Men from the 20th Century Fox films all gathered under Doom’s shadow.
Now a new set of promo art breaks that crowded lineup into individual team panels. The images, shared by Marvel Updates on X, feature Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the New Avengers and the X-Men, each in its own portrait.
Doom gets a panel of his own. He stands in his metal mask, dark green hood, and flowing cloak, one armored gauntlet raised in a fist against a gold-accented backdrop. The Fantastic Four panel shows Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Thing, and a flaming Human Torch in their blue-and-white uniforms, with the team’s iconic 4 logo behind them. They look ready to take on the multiverse’s biggest threat.
The Avengers panel brings together Sam Wilson’s Captain America with his shield, Thor, Black Panther, Shang-Chi, Ant-Man, and a winged Falcon under the team’s familiar A logo. It’s a mix of veterans and newer heroes who have taken on bigger roles in recent MCU films.

The New Avengers get their own spotlight as well. Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, U.S. Agent, and the Winter Soldier, with his metal arm on full display, appear in front of a modified Avengers logo, continuing the group’s story after ‘Thunderbolts*’.
The X-Men panel will draw a lot of attention from longtime fans. Professor X sits in his wheelchair in front, surrounded by Mystique, Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, and Nightcrawler, with the team’s X logo behind them.

These characters come from the Fox X-Men films, with Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen returning as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. The film is also Stewart’s final screen appearance following his death this week.
The team-based designs reflect the film’s multiversal setup. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings together heroes from the MCU’s main universe, the Fantastic Four’s Earth-828 and the Fox X-Men’s Earth-10005 to fight Doom.
Earlier promo art had already hinted at that collision. One image released in May showed the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men logos smashing into each other, which ComingSoon.net read as a hint at a 3-way incursion between those worlds.

The cast is massive. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach lead the Fantastic Four, while Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd and Simu Liu are among the returning MCU stars.
While each team has its own art, Doom is clearly the common thread. Downey’s return to the MCU as the Latverian ruler has been at the center of the campaign, from premium format posters to themed popcorn buckets and fast food tie-ins.

With the final trailer expected in mid-November, Marvel is likely to reveal more about how these teams cross paths. For now, the new art gives fans a clear look at who will be standing against Doom when the multiverse collides.
