Ishowspeed Stumbles Onto ‘The Gray Man’ Sequel Set, but Questions Remain About the Netflix Film
IShowSpeed has a habit of turning up in unexpected places, and his livestreams regularly go viral for the surprises they capture. The 21-year-old streamer spent this week in New York City, where he held a livestreamed hide-and-seek event across the city’s 5 boroughs, with $250,000 on offer for the first fan who found him.
That event, held on October 28, sent fans racing around the city after clues, including coordinates revealed over time and costumed characters placed in different neighborhoods. The stunt kept Speed’s chat flooded and his name trending across social media.
Now a clip from one of his streams is drawing attention for a different reason. A video shared by FearBuck on X claims that IShowSpeed crashed the set of Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man 2’, starring Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas.
The footage shows Speed walking down a city street lined with brick apartment buildings and Halloween cobwebs. A film crew is set up nearby with a professional camera and a large black flag, as several crew members turn to look at the streamer.
None of the film’s stars appear in the clip. Several outlets noted that it couldn’t confirm what production was filming there, and the claim that it was ‘The Gray Man 2’ has not been verified by Netflix.

That uncertainty makes sense given the sequel’s long history. Netflix first announced ‘The Gray Man 2’ in July 2022, confirming that Gosling would return as Court Gentry and that Joe and Anthony Russo would direct again.
Stephen McFeely, who co-wrote the original film, was hired to write the sequel. Netflix also announced a spinoff from ‘Deadpool’ writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Since then, updates have been rare. ComingSoon reported that sequel plans have stalled, with the Russos saying there’s little momentum at the moment and Netflix yet to confirm a production schedule.

The directors have had a lot on their plate. Scheduling around their Marvel work has been cited as one of the main hurdles for the sequel, and the pair are currently preparing ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ for release on December 18.
Reports about Gosling’s involvement have also been mixed. While he was announced as returning in 2022, Comic Basics noted that a later profile suggested he wasn’t in talks for the sequel, while other reports said he was still attached.

For now, the Gray Man story is continuing on the page. The 16th novel in Mark Greaney’s series, ‘Dark Union’, is set to arrive on February 16, 2027, following the bestselling ‘The Hard Line’.
If the film sequel moves forward, it could adapt the second book, ‘On Target’. The original movie was a big hit for Netflix, reaching the top streaming spot in 84 countries in its opening weekend, alongside a cast that included Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page and Billy Bob Thornton.
The viral clip has put the long-awaited sequel back in the spotlight, even if nobody can confirm what Speed actually walked into. For fans still hoping to see Court Gentry return, any hint of progress is welcome news. Until Netflix or the Russos share an official update, the clip remains an intriguing mystery. If it really was a ‘Gray Man’ shoot, more details are likely to come out soon.
