Barbour and Aardman have become a festive tradition for British audiences. The heritage clothing brand first teamed up with the animation studio for 2 Christmas campaigns starring Shaun the Sheep, before bringing in Wallace & Gromit for last year’s holiday film.

That 2025 campaign, titled “Barbour and Wallace & Gromit have Christmas covered,” proved popular enough for both sides to come back for more. This year, the beloved inventor and his loyal dog are once again leading Barbour’s Christmas push.

As Film Crave highlighted, a new ‘Wallace & Gromit’ Christmas short made in collaboration with Barbour has arrived. Aardman published the film, titled ‘Warm Wishes’, on November 5.

The stop-motion short was directed by Steve Harding-Hill, Aardman’s Creative Director of Short Form and Commercials. It follows Wallace and Gromit on a Christmas Day walk that doesn’t go to plan, leaving Gromit to save the day with a little help from Barbour.

The film opens with Gromit preparing for Christmas at home, surrounded by festive decorations. Wallace gives him a Sylkoil wax dog coat for their walk, and Gromit has a gift ready for Wallace in return, but Wallace heads out before he can hand it over.

As always, Wallace has a new invention to test. TheIndustry.fashion describes the Walk-o-matic as a living room chair fitted with oversized wheels made from Nimbus Chelsea Welly Boots, which malfunctions in the snow and throws Wallace into a snowdrift.

Gromit comes to the rescue with his present, a Cotton Half Knit Zipped Jumper that Wallace puts on right away. The short also includes a surprise cameo from Shaun the Sheep and his flock.

The film also nods to the Barbour family’s Scottish heritage. Tartan accessories feature prominently on the characters, putting the brand’s signature pattern at the heart of the story.

“We’re delighted to be continuing our creative partnership with Aardman,” said Barbour Global Marketing Director Jamie McCall in Aardman’s announcement. Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park added, “Like Wallace and Gromit, we can’t help getting totally wrapped up in Christmas.”

The campaign comes with a new Wallace & Gromit capsule collection. It includes knitted scarves, hats, caps, tote bags, key fobs and a dog coat, available from December on Barbour’s website and at selected retailers.

Barbour is also bringing back its Re-loved Wallace & Gromit-inspired wax jackets in a limited run, with all proceeds going to Oxfam. For the first time, Re-loved scarves and dog coats are joining the range.

Harding-Hill said it was once again an absolute joy to work with Barbour, which he called an iconic British brand. With 2 Shaun the Sheep films and now 2 Wallace & Gromit outings, the partnership has become a regular part of the holiday advertising calendar.

The new short blends Aardman’s trademark humor with a simple message about thoughtful gift-giving. For fans of the duo, it’s another chance to see Wallace’s inventions go wrong in festive style.

With the film now out and the collection arriving in December, Barbour’s Christmas campaign is officially underway. For many viewers, Wallace and Gromit’s snowy misadventure will be a cosy start to the season.
