‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Actress Kimmarie Johnson Dies at 50 Cause of Death Revealed
Kimmarie Johnson built a varied career across modeling, acting, and business. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was crowned Miss Pennsylvania USA and competed at the 1993 Miss USA pageant, where she finished as a finalist.
After college, she worked as a flight attendant before signing with a Pittsburgh modeling agency. She modeled for brands including Vidal Sassoon, Oscar de la Renta and United Colors of Benetton, then moved to Los Angeles in 1996 to pursue modeling and acting.
Johnson has now died at 50. As TMZ first reported, her niece, Rhonda Scott, said Johnson suffered a heart event at her Los Angeles home on October 27 and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
Doctors there diagnosed her with a heart aneurysm condition, according to her niece’s account to TMZ. Scott confirmed Johnson died on November 4; she also added that she passed away peacefully.
Loved ones have begun sharing their grief online. Yahoo reports that a cousin wrote on Facebook that the death was sudden and that she was heartbroken, describing Johnson as supportive and encouraging and asking people to pray for the family.
A friend also posted a tribute, recalling the last time they were together at the August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh a few months earlier. No official cause of death has been released. Johnson’s first acting role came in 1998 on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’; she played Judy in the Season 8 episode “The Following Options.”
