Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth Brings up Bruce Lee Again in the Final Trailer for ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’
Netflix’s biggest movie of the holiday season comes from 3 big names. Brad Pitt reprises his Oscar-winning role as the stuntman first introduced in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, and the final trailer for ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’ now gives fans one more look before tickets disappear. The film also reunites Pitt with director David Fincher for the first time since ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.’
The movie had a long road to its current form. Tarantino originally wrote the script for himself to direct, but eventually put it aside before Pitt convinced the filmmaker to let Fincher direct. The project was known for months as ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ until a short clip revealed the new title.
Netflix has now released a new trailer under a blunt tagline: “PITT. TARANTINO. FINCHER.” Like earlier footage, it opens with a line fans won’t miss: “You heard the story about Bruce Lee getting his a** kicked by a stuntman?” Tickets for its IMAX run were on sale when the final trailer arrived, and the post pushes moviegoers to book now.
The line points straight at one of the most debated scenes in the original film. Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, criticized the portrayal of her late father in the movie, which blends fiction with real people and events in late 1960s Hollywood. Tarantino defended the scene at the time by arguing that Cliff is a fictional character and a combat-hardened war veteran, so the fight shouldn’t be read as a straight martial arts contest.

Some outlets have noticed the trailer leaning into the controversy. JoBlo argued that, given the backlash to the original, Tarantino doubles down with the first line in the trailer. The story jumps forward almost a decade. According to Netflix’s synopsis, it’s 1977, eight years after Cliff Booth encountered the Manson family in Quentin Tarantino’s parallel history of 1969.
When he’s not earning his keep bartending, or as a projectionist, Cliff Booth is a fixer — solving situations for Hollywood’s great and, sometimes, not so good. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton gets a nod, but with a punchline. The trailer also reveals why Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t around in this sequel: As Cliff puts it, “Oh, Rick got too fat for me to double him anymore.”
Pitt has plenty of company, though: Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian join him.

The scale matches the talent. With a budget of $200 million, it will be Tarantino and Fincher’s most expensive film to date. The score is the sixth done by Ross and Reznor for a David Fincher project, and TheWrap noted the film is Netflix’s first IMAX movie.
Reviewers who have seen the trailers say this is not a carbon copy of the original. One critic observed that while Tarantino’s original film was an affectionate, revisionist love letter to a Hollywood that might have been, Fincher appears more interested in exploring the machinery operating beneath the glamour.

Some fans have already seen more than the trailer. At AFI Fest on October 23, Tarantino closed a Q&A by telling the crowd, “I could talk more about ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’ or I could show you the first 17 minutes.” The footage, which showed Booth working as a cinema projectionist, got enthusiastic reactions online, and some attendees said it was fascinating to see Tarantino’s characters through Fincher’s lens.

Tarantino said that night that he loves the character and sees him as a kind of paperback hero who could carry adventure after adventure. He’s also adding to that idea in print, since his novel ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ is scheduled for release on December 8.
You’ll need to move fast to see it on the big screen. The film will play a two-week exclusive global engagement in IMAX theaters starting November 25, 2026, before making its streaming debut on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
