‘Agatha All Along’ Reveals Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s Son, Was Sacrificed

The premiere of Agatha All Along episode 3 served as a heartfelt tribute to “Second Chance at Love” and marked the witches’ first trial on their journey down the Witches Road.

This initial trial focused on potion-making, where Jennifer Kale had the opportunity to shine and demonstrate her worthiness as a valuable member of the coven.

After the coven enters a mysterious house on the Witches Road, they drink wine that appears out of nowhere, only to discover it has been poisoned with Alewife’s Revenge.

Everyone except for the Teen and Agatha consumes the wine, but Agatha is ultimately compelled to drink it as well. Now, the coven has a limited time to brew an antidote; otherwise, they will perish.

As they begin to realize that the Teen has been put under a spell, Agatha insists she had no part in it but vows to investigate the mystery once they hopefully survive the Witches Road.

While in the house, Jennifer Kale warns the Teen not to trust Agatha, claiming she “traded her son for the book of the damned.” Jennifer admits she’s unsure if that’s true; it’s just a rumor. However, it makes sense given that Nicholas Scratch was confirmed in episode 1 when Agatha visited the child’s room in her house.

Jennifer further suggests that Agatha likely wouldn’t recognize her own son if he walked through her front door, implying that her son could be anyone, even an Agent of Mephisto.

The second part of the episode delved into the deep fears and traumas of the coven, as each member faced hallucinations tied to their past and traumatic experiences.

As expected, Agatha’s hallucination centered on her sacrifice of her child for the Darkhold. In a disturbing scene, the book appeared lying in what seemed to be a baby’s crib, suggesting that her son was taken from her when he was young and reinforcing that Agatha might not even recognize him now.

Agatha’s shock at this revelation hinted that there is still a trace of humanity within her cold, shriveled heart.

It’s clear that the show is hinting that the Teen may be Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s son, but we’re not entirely convinced; it could be a significant misdirection.
