The final season of ‘All American’ has moved quickly through its back half, and fans tracking the show week to week now have a firm date for the next new hour. Episode 7, titled ‘Somehow Some Way,’ continues the story that began when the series returned for its farewell run this summer.

The CW’s flagship football drama has built its closing chapter around a shortened timeline that compresses major turning points into a single eventful week for its characters, and episode 7 arrives at a point where several storylines are converging at once.

All American Season 8 Episode 7 Release Date and Time

‘All American’ season 8 episode 7 is titled ‘Somehow Some Way,’ and it is set to air on August 17, 2026, according to episode listings for the season. The title originated from the song “Somehow Some Way,” originally sung by Jay-Z.

The series has kept a consistent weekly pattern all season. All American returns for its eighth and final season on July 13, and will air new episodes on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET or 5 p.m. PT on The CW. That means episode 7 should reach television screens at the same familiar hour viewers have followed since the season began.

The season kicked off differently than a standard premiere week. Season 8 of All American began with a two episode premiere on July 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. That double episode start pushed the rest of the season into a steady one episode per Monday rhythm, which is how episode 7 arrives roughly five weeks later.

Fans should also note that this is a shortened road to the finish line. Like season 7, the final season of All American will feature 13 episodes. With episode 7 landing in the middle of that run, the show has now crossed the season’s midpoint heading toward its series ending.

Where to Watch ‘All American’ Season 8 Episode 7

Viewers without access to a traditional cable package still have a straightforward way to catch up. New episodes air weekly on Mondays and are available to stream for free the next day on The CW app and website. That gives anyone who misses the live Monday broadcast a next day option at no cost.

Streaming through Netflix remains a longer wait for viewers who prefer to binge. Because ‘All American’ operates under a legacy licensing arrangement between The CW and Netflix, full seasons have historically landed on Netflix roughly a week or so after the season finale airs, meaning episode 7 and the rest of season 8 will not be available there until sometime after the show wraps its final broadcast run in the fall.

For now, live viewing on The CW or next day catch up through the network’s own app remains the fastest route to episode 7. That arrangement has held steady since the season premiere and gives the show’s remaining audience a predictable way to stay current as the story heads into its final stretch.

What Happened Before Somehow Some Way

Episode 7 follows directly on the heels of ‘Rebel Without a Pause,’ an episode that shifted the show into notably heavier territory. An ICE raid at South Crenshaw leaves Amina, Preach and Khalil forever changed, while KJ and his Beverly teammates help their South Crenshaw friends but face consequences for it.

That storyline had roots planted earlier in the season. At Dinsburg, Amina had spoken about the school being complicit after it did nothing following an earlier ICE raid, and that led to her suspension. Seeing the same danger reach South Crenshaw gave her past stance new weight heading into the episodes that follow.

The fallout from that hour was not confined to one storyline. Between the fallout from the ICE raid and the Cassius and Jordan rift threatening to reopen old wounds, the season has been raising the question of which relationship on the show will end up more fractured by the time the credits roll. That tension carries directly into ‘Somehow Some Way.’

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll has hinted at how deep the ripple effects run this season. Speaking with TVLine, she teased that Amina’s ongoing secret will end up spilling over and affecting almost everyone’s lives, adding with a laugh that this is all she could say about it. She also confirmed that Amina and KJ have grown closer over the six months between seasons largely because of that unresolved situation, with flashbacks planned to fill in how that friendship developed.

The Final Season’s Bigger Picture

‘All American’ has framed its last run as a farewell built around one condensed stretch of time. The eighth and final season follows Jordan, Layla, Coop, Cassius, KJ, Khalil, Amina and Preach as the pursuit of their individual dreams unexpectedly challenges friendships and family, with the season covering just one week in the main characters’ lives. Production on the season ran from August 2025 through December 2025.

That structural choice explains why episodes have moved so fast from crisis to crisis, with the ICE raid storyline landing just one episode before ‘Somehow Some Way.’ In the back half of the season, each episode is built around a specific character and the completion of their individual journey.

The show’s ending has been treated as a milestone by its cast and crew throughout the promotional run. Series star Daniel Ezra, who will direct the finale himself, told PEOPLE ahead of the season that he is convinced the ending will give fans the closure they want, and that people who have already seen the script keep telling him it left them in tears.

With ‘Somehow Some Way’ airing as the seventh entry in a thirteen episode farewell season, ‘All American’ has six episodes left after this one to resolve the threads involving Amina, Khalil, KJ, Cassius and the rest of the South Crenshaw and Beverly Hills circle before the series closes for good.

Given how personally the ICE raid storyline hit Amina, Preach and Khalil, what do you think ‘Somehow Some Way’ needs to address first when it picks up their story.
