Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has just been released, and fans are already excited about what this movie has in store for the future of the MCU. Of course, when it comes to the future of the MCU, it is hard not to think about post-credit scenes as a way for us to get to know more about what’s in store for us in the next MCU projects, especially because they provide sneak previews for fans.

In Quantumania, we learned that the storyline revolves around the Ant-Family’s battle against Kang the Conqueror, who was supposedly the next big threat to the MCU. That means that this movie is so important in setting up the MCU’s future, especially regarding its post-credit scenes. So, with that said, let’s look at the post-credit scenes of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to understand what the future holds for us.

How Many Post-Credit Scenes Does Ant-Man 3?

There is no doubt that the MCU is known for its post-credit scenes, as this has always been the way for Marvel Studios to bridge the different events between the different movies in the greater narrative of this fictional universe. Of course, the post-credit scenes are also a way for us to know what the future holds for the characters involved in a certain movie.

In that regard, it goes without saying that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has its own fair share of post-credit scenes. And the reason why the post-credit scenes of Quantumania are so important is related to the fact that this was where Kang the Conqueror was properly introduced as an antagonist. But how many post-credit scenes does Quantumania have?

Unlike the recent MCU movies that only have one post-credit scene, Quantumania returns to the usual format of having two of them. This means you would have to wait around ten minutes after the mid-credit scenes to see the post-credit scenes. And both of these scenes are so important when it comes to setting up the future of the MCU and two of its upcoming projects.

The first one is related to the greater MCU narrative and the future of the Avengers, considering that we are going to be getting a Kang Dynasty movie in the future. Meanwhile, the second post-credit scene is related to the hit Disney+ series entitled Loki, as it is set to see a second season sometime this year.

What Happens In The First Post-Credit Scene?

We all know that Kang the Conqueror is the main enemy of Quantumania and that this is his “official” introduction to the MCU. The thing that we learned about him in the movie is that the other variants of himself banished him due to the fact that he traveled from one universe to another to conquer and destroy entire timelines. Janet saw this when she touched Kang’s ship and had a vision of the things that he did in the past.

After Kang recovered his ship’s power core, he went on to say that his next goal was to take revenge on the ones that exiled him. He wanted to use the army he built in the Quantum Realm. And the one thing that affected Scott the most was the fact that Kang told him that people that were more dangerous than him were coming and that those who exiled him were going to be threats to them in the future.

Then again, this version of Kang was defeated during the events of Quantumania when Scott and Hope used his power core against him. But the fact that Kang the Conqueror was defeated was not enough to shake off the feeling that there was something worse that was going to come in the future, as Scott was clearly bothered by what Kang said about the other versions of himself. While Scott learned to brush that thought off, Kang was indeed telling the truth.

In the mid-credit scene, we were taken to a world that was seemingly beyond time and space as several variants of Kang were talking to one another as equals. These variants of Kang wore different outfits. But the consensus was that they all saw themselves as gods and that they viewed regular human beings as inferior to them. And we already knew that there were a lot of variants of Kang due to the fact that “He Who Remains” told the story of how all of these variants fought with one another until he was the only one that remained.

However, in the mid-credit scene, all these Kang variants seemed to get along really well as they were talking about how the Exiled One had been killed. But while they were happy about the fact that the Conqueror was dead, they were worried about how the people of Universe-616 were now more knowledgeable about the multiverse. And this seems to be something that bothered the Kangs so much that they were willing to call a meeting to discuss this matter.

That was when one of the Kangs summoned all of the other variants of Kang from all of the different universes. An entire arena was filled with these Kang variants that had different appearances and personalities. But it was clear that they were all concerned about the multiverse and how more and more people are learning more about it.

What Happens In The Second Post-Credit Scene?

Meanwhile, after the mid-credit scene, we were treated to a post-credit scene that allowed us to see a glimpse of what was to come for the future of another MCU project. We are talking about season 2 of Loki, which is one of the most popular series on Disney+.

Back in season 1 of Loki, the titular character and his female variant, Sylvie, met a Kang variant named He Who Remains, who was also the very same person that ran the Time Variance Authority from behind the shadows. He Who Remains was the survivor of a battle that involved all of the variants of Kang. And when he was the only one to survive, he decided to make sure that there was only one sacred timeline so that the other variants, who were a lot more dangerous than he was, would not be created.

That was the reason why the TVA made sure that no other timelines would branch off from the sacred timeline. But Sylvie’s decision to kill He Who Remains changed all that because this led to more timelines branching off from the sacred timeline. As such, the multiverse was basically created due to the actions of Loki and Sylvie in the events of the Loki series.

Loki returned to the TVA to find out that this was not the same timeline that he knew and that the course of history had been changed due to Sylvie’s actions. That was how season 1 of Loki ended.

Meanwhile, in the post-credit scene of Quantumania, Loki and Mobius travel back in time to what seems like the 19th century as they are watching a magic show. The one on stage was a variant of Kang, as Loki was visibly shocked when he said that this was “him.” Meanwhile, Mobius wasn’t too impressed by this person, only for Loki to reassure him that he was much more than what his appearance suggested.

How Do The Post-Credit Scenes Set Up The Future Of The MCU?

Of course, the post-credit scenes of Quantumania are very important to the future of the MCU due to how they both involve Kang. In fact, the next Avengers movie is entitled Kang Dynasty, which we know will be about Kang. But the mid-credit scene shows that this movie will not be about the Kang that we met in Quantumania but will be about all of the other variants of Kang that we saw in that scene. And the fact that one Kang was so dangerous implies that countless other Kangs are going to be incredibly tough to defeat, even for the Avengers.

In that regard, the first post-credit scene gives us a glimpse of what will come in the next Avengers movie, especially considering that the Avengers haven’t been together since Endgame. This event should be the one to force all of the heroes of the MCU to work together once more.

As far as the second post-credit scene is concerned, it was clearly there to set up the future of Loki and the upcoming second season of the series. We all know that the Loki series is connected to the entire multiverse storyline of the MCU. As such, whatever happens in Loki affects the MCU itself.

In that regard, there is a good chance that season 2 of Loki will set up more twists and turns regarding the MCU as we move forward into the future. And whatever happens in Loki could very well have an impact on the upcoming Kang Dynasty storyline.
