‘Avengers 5’ Reportedly Gets Another Filming Date Change

Marvel Studios has a lineup of movies slated for release in the coming years. However, many of these projects faced delays or changes in release dates due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and various controversies and issues needing resolution. Among the most anticipated movies are continuations of the ‘Avengers’ franchise, which has been the subject of much discussion in recent months.
On June 13, 2023, a film initially set for an unspecified release date was pushed back to May 1, 2026. Then, on November 15, 2023, Deadline reported that Destin Daniel Cretton, the original director, had stepped down from the project to focus on directing ‘Shang-Chi 2’ instead. Additionally, on November 27, 2023, it was announced that Michael Waldron had replaced Jeff Loveness as the scriptwriter.
At that time, it was anticipated that filming for the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movie would start in late 2024 in the UK. However, according to Alex Perez, a prominent leaker and industry insider, filming is now scheduled to commence in 2025, a few months later than originally expected.
This development isn’t surprising given recent events affecting the franchise. Trouble for ‘Avengers 5’ began when Majors faced legal issues around the time of ‘Quantumania’s’ release, including assault and abuse charges. He was convicted of assault in December 2023 and is currently awaiting sentencing.
Following Majors’ dismissal by the studio, they began seeking a replacement and swiftly renamed the movie from ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ to ‘Avengers 5’. There’s also speculation that the MCU will focus on street-level stories for upcoming projects while they navigate the Multiversal themes.
