Batman vs Daredevil: The Dark Knight vs The Man Without Fear

When it comes to similar characters that appear in DC’s and Marvel’s fictional universes, Batman and Daredevil are really among the most comparable pairs there is. They are far from being identical, there’s a world of differences between them, but the dark narrative that surrounds them, as well as the storylines that make them so unique make them very comparable. In this article, we are going to compare the Dark Knight of Gotham with the Man Without Fear to determine who the stronger one is.
Batman is clearly stronger than Daredevil. Daredevil might be a good fighter with heightened senses, but Batman is simply a league of his own when compared to him. He is a better fighter, he has better gadgets, he has more experience and has, what is most important, beaten the likes of Daredevil with ease throughout his career.
The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to compare Batman and Daredevil in more detail. Through several categories, you are going to see who the stronger of the two is and why our answer is like it is, i.e., why Batman would ultimately be able to defeat Daredevil in a direct fight.
Physical powers
Batman represents the absolute peak of human psycho-physical capacity, thanks to his training and his extreme living conditions, as well as the technological means he uses to analyze himself and improve himself. It can be said that his physical abilities are superior to those of an Olympic-level athlete: his strength, agility, endurance, speed and remaining physical characteristics are at a level of absolute perfection. Bruce can hold his breath underwater for a full 6 minutes.
Physically Matt Murdock is a normal human, with strength and speed enhanced by constant training, his training levels have put Matt well above the levels of Olympic athletes. His reflexes, speed and quickness in conjunction with his heightened senses (especially radar) have given him the ability to reach levels very close to the peak of the human condition.
As you can see, whereas Daredevil is a normal guy with some good skills and heightened senses, Batman is the absolute peak of human capabilities, coming as close to being a superhero as humanly possible, which is why he wins this one.

Fighting skills
Batman is known as one of the best martial artists in the world. He has been trained by the best fighters from all over the world and possesses a wide variety of combat skills that are used in his fight against crime. In turn, he can also pass on his learnings to his protégés. Batwoman was able to identify at least fourteen different styles of martial arts from watching Batman fight. Bruce even learned a technique called “Combat Language”, in which he can communicate with others while fighting.
Batman has beaten many of the most skilled martial artists in the world; as Red Robin, Ra’s al Ghul, Orphan, KGBeast, Bane, Red Hood, Merlin the Claw, Nobody, Frankenstein, Deathstroke, Lynx, and the Laughing Batman. His skills are so good that he ended up with the likes of Bronze Tiger and even Lady Shiva.
Early in his crime-fighting career, Batman managed to stand his ground against Princess Vik. Whereas she was faster than him and was angry at the time, while feeling uncomfortable with a bullet hole in her arm. Even though he was blind, he defeated the Knight of Arkham in battle and fended off a horde of Joker Zombies.
Daredevil possesses extensive knowledge about different martial arts disciplines such as ninjutsu, jujitsu, judo, and American boxing among others, as well as meditation techniques and nerve point techniques.
Putting this knowledge together, his athletic abilities and his super-senses make Daredevil one of the best fighters on the planet. The combination of his super-sense of touch coupled with his knowledge of nerve points allows him to exert exact pressure on his opponents.
There is absolutely no doubt that Batman wins this point easily. Batman is one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the history of comic books, and however good Daredevil might be, he doesn’t even come close to the Dark Knight.

Superpowers
Batman has absolutely no superpowers at all and everything that he has achieved is the result of his rigorous training and experience. Some iterations of the character had certain superpowers, but we won’t be considering them here, as it would be completely unfair towards Daredevil. In his base form, Batman is just a regular human.
It originally comes from his exposure to a radioactive isotope which was rediscovered after Murdock’s “powers” may come from his natural aptitude and intense training at Stick’s hands. His powers have been so honed by years of training that when she fought Psylocke during the war between the Avengers and the X-Men, she was overwhelmed when she tried to read her mind and found herself experiencing all the information she receives through his enhanced senses, demonstrating the extent of the psychological training required for Murdock to operate on a normal human level.
And while Daredevil himself doesn’t have any major superpowers save for his heightened senses, this is enough to beat out Batman in this category, although ultimately, it wouldn’t help Daredevil much.

Weapons and equipment
Batman keeps most of his personal field equipment in a signature piece of costume, a yellow utility belt. The utility belt has a button for calling the car in some Justice League appearances, and a command for teleportation. Over the years, it has contained items such as plastic explosives, nerve toxins, batarangs, smoke bombs, a fingerprint kit, a cutting tool, a grappling hook-type weapon, torches, and a “re-breather” breathing device.
Superman had entrusted Batman with a ring made of kryptonite, to be used to stop the Man of Steel when needed (if he was mind-controlled by a villain, etc.). The Kryptonite ring is contained in a lead pouch in order to protect Batman from its radiation. The belt also has its own automated safety systems.
Daredevil has worn four suits over the course of his crime-fighting career: his original black-and-yellow suit, his modern red suit, a black-and-red armored suit that was used temporarily, and a new black-and-red suit. which was used during the Shadowland Saga.
When Murdock experienced a psychological break, each of his first three suits became foci for three separate and distinct personalities within Murdock. Since then, Murdock has resolved his psychological problems, and now exclusively wears the red suit. The horns on his suit are antennae that can pick up radio waves, allowing them to perceive them as a police scanner.
Considering only the Utility Belt, Batman easily beats out Daredevil here. Daredevil has a very reduced arsenal of weapons at his disposition and he cannot match Batman’s gadgets in any aspect.

Batman vs Daredevil: Who would win?
And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.
Even without the points, which are clearly in Batman’s favor, it was quite obvious that the Dark Knight of Gotham could defeat Daredevil without much trouble. You have to consider the fact that Batman is a top-level superhero, despite being a mere human. The fact that he, as a human, can be on the same level as Superman or Wonder Woman, goes to show just how dangerous he is.
Dareveil is a solid fighter and a very noble superhero, but he couldn’t do much against Batman, even with his heightened senses. Batman has beaten out the likes of Daredevil with ease, while, at the same time, defeating the likes of Darkseid, who is a character that wouldn’t even have to use 1% of his powers to obliterate Daredevil. On top of that, if we consider Batman’s famous preparation, Daredevil wouldn’t really stand a chance.
That is why we had Batman down as the winner in this comparison and there is no doubt that the outcome is a correct one.
