“Hi, I’m Baymax. Your personal healthcare companion.”

Yep, that’s right. The adorable healthcare companion Baymax will soon make his long-awaited return in the spin-off show on Disney+. This will be the first-ever tv show made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, and it will follow Baymax working as a nurse, or as he says, healthcare companion all around San Fransokyo, a fictional city where the original movie was also set.

Disney announced today that the show will debut on Disney+ in Summer 2022, and the official trailer was also unveiled:

The animated movie Big Hero 6, inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, was released in 2014 and it grossed $657.9 million worldwide. The movie follows Hiro and Baymax, a healthcare robot created by Hiro’s late big brother as they’re forming a superhero team to stop a dangerous villain.

Although it didn’t gross as much as some other animated movies at that time, like Frozen, Big Hero 6 was still both critical and commercial success. And both critics and audience praised Scott Adsit’s performance as Baymax, who quickly became one of the most loveable Disney characters. Adsit will also reprise the role in the spin-off show.

Robotics prodigy Hiro (Ryan Potter) lives in the city of San Fransokyo. Next to his older brother, Tadashi, Hiro’s closest companion is Baymax (Scott Adsit), a robot whose sole purpose is to take care of people. When a devastating turn of events throws Hiro into the middle of a dangerous plot, he transforms Baymax and his other friends, Go Go Tamago (Jamie Chung), Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.), Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and Fred (T.J. Miller) into a band of high-tech heroes.
