But Summer believes that there is always something in real life that will get in the way of their love. Summer broke up with Tom after one year of knowing each other. Tom is devastated and wants to win her back, but he needs to figure out how. He tells us their love story, and we start to get to know Summer and all her crazy ways.

The Terminal (2004)

Why you should watch it: Very soon, Dottie becomes a hit, but this won’t be something that everyone will agree with. Her sister Kit, who is also on the team, will start to feel left out in the shadow of her sister. And Kit was the one who encouraged Dottie to try and enter the team. This movie showed what sports meant at the time of World War II, and it is a great tribute to women in this predominantly male sport.

But her teacher Jim McAlister has completely different plans and convinces jock Paul Metzler to run, starting a series of interesting and unexpected events.

What it’s about: Jack Black rocked this movie as a substitute teacher who has never finished anything, let alone got an education in education itself. He answers a phone call for his roommate and decides to impersonate him as a music teacher in a preppy private school. Black is Dewey Finn, a lowlife with no future but an excellent music connoisseur who ends up as an enlightened teacher with extraordinary new methods. 

Why you should watch it: Even though this couldn’t happen in real life and a Dewey of a sort would soon be discovered, this movie allows us to fantasize about all the jobs we have ever wanted to do. It is funny, full of musical references, genius quotes, and excellent music, and a must-watch for every child but also a grown-up.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

What it’s about: Peter is devastated after his famous girlfriend breaks up with him, so he decides to spend some time away from everything that reminds him of her. He travels to Hawaii and encounters his ex, Sarah Marshall, with her new boyfriend, an obnoxious and arrogant English rocker. Peter doesn’t know what to do.

He is constantly reminded of the hard time he is having since Sarah and Aldous don’t hide their passion from anyone. But there is hope and romance lurking here. Peter meets Rachel, a cute hotel receptionist who happens to be in the right place at the right time.

Why you should watch it: This romantic comedy proves that there is always a silver lining, even when a big love story goes really bad or when you least expect it. Or both almost at the same time. It is hilarious, heartwarming, and romantic at the same time, with a great cast and witty and intelligent dialogue.

Mean Girls (2004)

What it’s about: One of the best teenage comedies in the past twenty years is definitely this interesting movie about American high school life, the outcasts, and the popular students and their relationships and communication. We meet Cady Heron, one of the most popular girls in her school and a member of The Plastics, the most famous girl clique there. But her life changes after she makes a mistake and falls for the ex-boyfriend of their leader, Regina George.

Why you should watch it: This is a very clever comedy that depicts the high school hierarchy in a pretty sarcastic and cynical manner which makes it a bit different from the typical movies with a similar topic. It is entertaining and funny, with brilliant performances, especially from Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried.

What it’s about: Jim Carrey was the absolute king of comedies in the 90s, and one of his most famous and beloved ones is this crazy and hilarious movie where he plays a wacky detective who specializes in animals. He is Ace Ventura, the detective who gets the job of finding the missing mascot of the Miami Dolphins. While searching for the mascot, he will get into numerous funny situations no one will forget.
