Skyrim: 5 Best Places To Sell Jewelry

We’ve all found ourselves with too much stuff in Skyrim and not enough merchants around to sell it at least once. Skyrim has plenty of trinkets, and it just seems like such a shame to pass them by since they take up almost nothing in weight but are worth a considerable amount of gold. In the past, we’ve covered the merchants with the most gold, and today we’re going for something similar. Jewelry in Skyrim is worth a lot, depending on the type and whether it’s enchanted.
As we know most merchants scattered around Skyrim have only a limited amount of gold at their disposal and even when we enhance our speechcraft skills and invest in their stores it’s still not enough to unload all our jewelry. This is where the Thieves Guild comes in, to be more precise Thieves Guild fences.
Thieves guild fences are by far the best place to sell jewelry in Skyrim. This is due to the fact that they have the most gold out of all merchants in Skyrim if you fully upgrade the Thieves Guild. And now, having said that, let’s review some thieves’ guild fences and the best places to sell jewelry in Skyrim.
1. Niranye in Windhelm
Niranye is a High Elf thief currently residing in Windhelm. She becomes available to you as a fence after the completion of the “Summerset Shadows” quest. You can trade with Niranye even before the quest as she has her own stall in Windhelm’s market.
Niranye carries an assortment of standard merchandise typical for a general merchant. You can buy various kinds of leveled jewelry, gems, ingots, animal parts, weapons, armor, potions, and other items from her, depending on your level of course.
She will also buy almost anything you offer her including jewelry. Niranye has between 1000 and 4000 gold coins available for trading, depending on where you are in the Thieves Guild storyline. Niranye will provide her services at her usual merchant’s stall.
2. Gulum-Ei in Solitude
Gulum-Ei is an Argonian nightblade currently residing in Solitude. He works as a dock worker for East Empire Company and serves as Thieves Guild’s informant. You will have dealings with Gulum-Ei during the quest “Scoundrel’s Folly”. After the quest, he becomes available as the guild’s fence for the Solitude area.
As a dock worker and a person of interest inside EEC, he has access to some interesting items. Like Niranye he carries a standard assortment of goods typical for Thieves Guild fences.
Depending on where you are in the Thieves Guild storyline, he will carry between 1000 and 4000 golds for trading and is a perfect choice for you to sell your jewelry. You can find Gulum-Ei in the Winking Skeever Inn where he will provide his services.
3. Endon – Markarth
Like previous Thieves Guild fences, Endon is a designated fence for the Reach area. Before becoming your fence, Endon was a silversmith whose silver mold was stolen. Since the local authority refused to help him in a timely manner, he turned to you to sort out that problem. Endon becomes available after the quest “Silver Lining”. Even though he is a silversmith by trade, Endon is not a jeweler, that role belongs to his wife Kerah, who operates out of a small stand across from Silver-Blood Inn.
However, since Endon buys and sells standard merchandise he will take jewelry off your hands as well. Due to being a fence, he will pay you a decent price for it, he carries between 1000 and 4000 gold. You can find Endon wandering the streets of Markarth, or in the house where he will provide you with fence services.
4. Dremora Merchant – anywhere
Dremora Merchant is one of the merchants in Skyrim with the highest base gold. You can acquire Dremora Merchant after you’ve completed the quest “Black Book: Untold Legends”. One of the possible rewards for that quest is a special power called Black Market that allows you to summon Dremora Merchant anywhere, even where you are outside of Solstheim.
Even though Dremora Merchant mostly deals with weapons and armor, he will buy jewelry from you.
As I’ve already mentioned his base gold is quite high but still cannot compete with the possible gold other fences have at their disposal especially when you’re done with the Thieves Guild storyline.
Dremora Merchant is useful because you can summon him anywhere, anytime. Which makes unloading jewelry in small quantities possible immediately after clearing a certain ruin/cave/place of interest.
Dremora Merchant has 2000 gold at his disposal, and sadly, that gold cannot be increased with speech-related perks.
5. Tonilia – Riften
We’re going to end our list with Tonilia. Tonilia is the first fence you meet when you join the Thieves Guild. She provides you with special enchanted Thieves Guild armor as well. She can be found in the Ragged Flagon, either doing business with other guild members or simply eating and taking a break.
Tonilia is involved with several quests: “Taking Care of Business”, “Meet the Family”, “Scoundrel’s Folly”, and “Thieves Guild Caravan Fence Quest”. All quests can be used to improve the relationship with Tonilia.
Tonilia like all other fences on this list offers and buys standard merchandise, mostly comprised of leveled weapons, armor, lockpicks, and potions. She will buy jewelry from you and like all other fences has 1000-4000 gold at her disposal.
Now that we’re done with our main list, it’s important to mention other fences with large amounts of gold as well such as Mallus Maccius, who provides fencing services in the Whiterun area, and Enthir, Altmer mage who acts as a designated fence for Winterhold area.
As you can see, the best places to sell your jewelry in Skyrim are Thieves Guild fences. They have the highest amount of gold available as soon as you set the Thieves guild on the right track.
