‘Blade’ Reboot Reportedly Undergoes Yet Another Storyline Change & Moves Filming Location
Marvel has numerous projects slated for release in the coming years. Many of these projects have faced delays and cancellations due to the industry-wide SAG-AFTRA strike. One highly anticipated Marvel Studios project, ‘Blade,’ has faced challenges even before the strikes began. It’s set in the MCU and follows Eric Brooks, a renowned vampire hunter, rebooting the popular ‘Blade’ trilogy.
Little is known about the ‘Blade’ movie except that Mahershala Ali proposed the project and will portray the titular character. Originally scheduled for release in 2023, it was pushed to 2025 due to Ali’s concerns about the script. Recent reports suggest changes in the movie’s direction, including a shift away from focusing on Blade’s daughter. Additionally, there’s a rumor that the movie won’t be a period piece anymore and will move its filming location from Atlanta to London, possibly involving Black Knight.
This is just one of many changes happening in the movie. A few months ago, there were rumors that Mahershala Ali had left the project due to delays, but he later confirmed he was sticking with it. Michael Green has been brought in for rewrites, aiming to maintain the “R” rating. Originally set for release in 2023, ‘Blade’ has been delayed by over two years due to production issues and the SAG-AFTRA strike, now aiming for November 7, 2025. With more changes rumored, further delays are likely.
