Few shows have managed to turn the inner workings of the entertainment industry into something this addictive. For five seasons, French audiences and international Netflix subscribers alike fell hard for the chaos of a Parisian talent agency trying to keep its stars happy and its doors open.

When the series wrapped its fourth season back in 2020, it left behind a devoted fanbase that never quite stopped hoping for more. That patience is finally about to pay off in a big way.

‘Call My Agent!’ is returning as a full-length feature film, and Netflix has confirmed it will premiere globally on September 10. The entire original ensemble is coming back for the occasion, led by Camille Cottin, Laure Calamy, Thibault de Montalembert, Grégory Montel, Nicolas Maury, Fanny Sidney, and Liliane Rovère.

The film picks up five years after the show’s bittersweet finale, with Cottin’s Andréa Martel having left the agency world behind entirely. She has reinvented herself as a film director, only to lose her lead actor just days before shooting is set to begin on her directorial debut.

With no other option, Andréa is forced to reassemble her old ASK Agency team to help save the production, setting off exactly the kind of industry chaos the series built its reputation on. Series creator Fanny Herrero, who co-wrote the film alongside Lison Daniel, said finding the right way to organically justify reuniting a cast that had all gone their separate ways was the biggest challenge in crafting the script.

True to the show’s tradition of stunt casting real film stars playing exaggerated versions of themselves, the movie is bringing in some serious star power beyond its returning ensemble. George Clooney and Eva Longoria both make guest appearances, joined by French talent including Laetitia Casta, Vincent Macaigne, Ophélia Kolb, Anne Marivin, and Laurent Lafitte.

The cast list expands even further with names like Monica Bellucci, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Béatrice Dalle, and Jean Reno rounding things out. It is a lineup that mirrors the series’ longtime habit of attracting major names willing to poke fun at themselves for a good bit.

The film’s existence was confirmed in dramatic fashion, with the original cast walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival to announce their return. Production also used the festival as a filming location, shooting additional scenes at the Palais des Festivals to capture the real energy of the event.

Directed by Émilie Noblet, the movie officially wrapped production before heading into post-production ahead of its September release. For a series that won Best Comedy Series honors at the International Emmy Awards during its original run, expectations for this long-awaited follow-up are understandably high.

Fans of the original ‘Dix Pour Cent,’ as it’s known in French, have waited a long time to see this cast back together, and the movie appears designed to reward that patience. Between the returning ensemble, the starry cameos, and a plot that puts Andréa right back in familiar chaos, the film seems built to deliver everything longtime viewers loved about the series.

How excited are you for the Call My Agent! reunion movie?
