Charlie Cox Reveals the Extent of Foggy’s Role in the Original ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Reboot—It’s Quite Disappointing

One of the most anticipated upcoming MCU projects is ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ The show generated significant excitement when its early development was announced, but fans were quickly taken aback to learn that it wouldn’t continue the story from Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ series. Instead, it was designed as a soft reboot.
Fans were further disappointed to discover that the show would include several episodes where Daredevil doesn’t don his suit at all. The series is set to focus on a legal drama angle, highlighting Daredevil’s life as he attempts to leave his vigilante past behind, similar to the character of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
The news that Karen and Foggy would not be returning to the series was a major disappointment for fans who cherished these characters for their crucial roles in Daredevil’s development.
Then came the announcement that the studio was abandoning the current version of the show, which was deemed “a bit boring,” in favor of a new direction that aligns more closely with the comic book’s portrayal of the character. Although some of the previously filmed material was retained, much of the story was reworked from scratch, and numerous scenes were reshot.
Charlie Cox frequently expressed his heartbreak over Karen and Foggy not returning for the reboot, with several insiders confirming that both characters were initially slated to die before the show’s overhaul.
Recently, a fan had the chance to speak with Charlie Cox at this year’s GalaxyCon. According to the fan, Cox revealed that Elden Henson was initially set to make a cameo in one episode, intended solely to sever the connection between the Netflix series and the MCU reboot, which likely meant his character would have died during this brief appearance.
I talked to the cast at GalaxyCon last weekend and this is what i learned.

This aligns with earlier information about the show’s reboot and corroborates several sources that suggested the original direction of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was highly disrespectful to Foggy’s and Karen’s legacies.
Currently, there are rumors that either Karen or Foggy may still meet their end in the upcoming series, and we’re really hoping this insider information proves to be untrue! What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments below!
