Classroom of the Elite: The Nagumo/Ichinose Relationship – Explained!

The romantic intrigues of Classroom of the Elite are quite interesting and are of interest to a lot of fans of the series. Whether it’s some major ship or something of lesser importance, fans around the world keep discussing how their favorite characters might evolve and who they might end up with in the end. In this article, we are going to talk about Honami Ichinose and Miyabi Nagumo, two important characters from the series, to reveal whether they end up together and what the exact nature of their relationship is. Nagumo does like Ichinose, but she does not reciprocate his feelings

The relationships between the characters of Classroom of the Elite are always interesting and almost always complex. In this article, we are going to talk about the relationship between Nagumo and Honami, as we are going to explain the true nature of this relationship in the series. This is, as you might expect, a very interesting and complex topic – as interpersonal relationships in the series usually are – but we are going to provide you with as many details as you need to completely understand what is going on between the current and prospective Student Council Presidents.

Immediately from the start, we can confirm that Nagumo and Ichinose are not a couple in the series. Most of you probably knew that, but we just wanted to cross that off our list so that you can continue reading without having to wonder. We are now going to explain why the chances of them ending up in love with each other are quite slim.

As far as Nagumo’s side of the story is concerned, he does have some romantic feelings for Ichinose, which shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Ichinose is really a likable person. What Nagmo noticed first, though, was her appearance: when he first saw her, he immediately took interest in her because she was very pretty, a trait he particularly liked in the opposite sex. And while it started off as something superficial and shallow, he actually did get to know her better later and then realized that he liked her even more, i.e., that he liked her other traits as well.

And this makes sense, as Ichinose is a very layered character and is a nice person. But, she did not like Nagumo. To her, he was nothing more than a schoolmate and a senpai, and while she did respect him because of his position and his seniority, she did not feel anything for him. In fact, it is a known fact that she likes Ayanokoji, so she feels it would be wrong to date someone while being in love with another character.

Nagumo did try to “coerce” Ichinose into becoming his girlfriend during the Class Poll Special Exam, as he offered points to her class so that they could save everyone from being expelled, but she did not want to become his girlfriend in exchange for the points, so she accepted Kiyotaka’s help later on. This was a bad move on Nagumo’s part, but it wasn’t anything particularly strange knowing his pragmatic and narcissistic personality.

For him, Ichinose is an ideal of sorts, and he thought that he had to do anything that was in his power to “get” her, completely disregarding her personality and her emotions, which was wrong. The two of them did bond later, as Ichinose was picked as the most probable successor of Nagumo in the Student Council, but his motives aren’t completely clear here, as it seems that he is only hanging out with her in order to make Kiyotaka jealous and not to actually support her candidacy.

And that is, more or less, the gist of it, as far as the relationship between Nagumo and Ichinose is concerned, and we think you can now understand the whole deal with the two of them.
