‘Date A Live’ Is Back With a New Anime Project

The original Date A Live light novel series was published from 2011 to 2020. Written by Kōshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, the series consists of a total of 22 published volumes.
A popular anime series also ran – with breaks – from 2013 to 2024. A total of 58 episodes were produced, including two OVA episodes. Several other derivative works have been produced.
And while this science-fantasy harem series never became a mainstream hit, it was beloved by its fans and it has a devoted and loyal fandom that wanted more content. We can now confirm that more content is, indeed, coming.
To be frank and to disappoint you a bit, we have to confirm that we don’t have any precise information for you. Kadokawa has confirmed that a new anime project will be produced, but aside from this teaser visual, we haven’t received much:
The visual teases a new project but we don’t know what it is. It could be an anime series, an anime movie, or perhaps an OVA series, although the latter is the least likely possibility. Alongside this, Kadokawa has released a visual for the anime’s 12th anniversary, featuring the characters in summer dresses:
