A few days ago Jason Momoa officially confirmed he is going to play Lobo in the DCU. His first appearance is expected to be in the upcoming movie ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ and the actor confirmed as much by posting an image of himself reading the script while smoking a cigar.

It’s been pretty much rumored from day one that Momoa won’t exactly leave DC or WB for that matter as he has been heavily rumored to play Lobo. The rumors were mostly fueled by Momoa’s physical resemblance to the character and the fact that he wanted to play him for a long time now.

‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ is already deep in development and is ready to start production in early 2025. It will be the second movie in production and the second DCU movie released overall as confirmed by James Gunn.

Momoa got plenty of positive reactions and among them was David Leitch. Leitch stated in the comments his enthusiasm for directing a solo Lobo movie in the DC Universe and strongly suggested that Jason Momoa is the perfect actor for the role.

“Lobo solo movie? I’m in, Jason Momoa! It’s a story we were born to tell..this character is all you”

David Leitch is known for directing action-packed films like ‘John Wick’ (as a co-director) and ‘Atomic Blonde.’ He also directed ‘Deadpool 2’ and ‘Bullet Train,’ showcasing his skill in blending action with humor. He’s also been involved with Captain America: Civil War’ and ‘The Wolverine,’ so he has plenty of experience in the superhero genre.

This is also not the first time that Leitch has been advocating for a Lobo movie, hope Gunn is listening!
