Marvel Studios has several intriguing projects lined up for the coming years, including an animated series centered on a young Spider-Man, titled ”Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.”

The show was announced for Disney+ on November 12, 2021, with Jeff Trammell serving as the writer and executive producer. During San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that the series would debut in 2024, alongside news of a sequel series, ‘Spider-Man: Sophomore Year.’ Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures was announced as the producer of the series on July 14, 2023, utilizing cutting-edge CG technology. The premiere date was confirmed for November 2, 2024.

Liza Singer, who previously worked as an episodic director for the show, has announced on X that she will be returning to the studio once again in the same role.

However, Liza couldn’t reveal which project she’s currently working on, stating that fans should await the official press release. Following the success of ‘What…If?,’ Marvel Studios began developing a range of animated projects set to be part of the Marvel Animated Multiverse. These include highly anticipated shows like ‘X-Men ’97,’ ‘Marvel Zombies,’ ‘Eyes of Wakanda,’ and an anime-inspired project featuring cosmic beings.

It’s no surprise that Marvel Studios is gradually shifting its attention to animated content. These shows have been well-received, and they come with a lower production cost compared to live-action movies, which haven’t seen the same level of success recently. The studio’s transition to animation has been a persistent rumor since Iger announced that they would prioritize quality over quantity.

There are rumors swirling about the revival of older shows. ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ has already made a successful return, and there’s speculation that the Spider-Man animated show could be next in line for a revival. It’s possible that this is the project Liza is currently working on, given her experience with adapting Spider-Man for animation.
