From Hades to the Huntsman, here is a list of Disney characters that start with the letter ‘H’. There are some classic animated characters and also some recent additions you’ve not come across before, so let’s get right into it!
Hades (Hercules)
The god of the Underworld, he tries to have Hercules made mortal so that he can kill him, but Hercules does not drink all of the poison and so maintains his godly strength.
Hamish (Brave)
The triplets are basically indistinguishable. They can turn into bear cubs and are quite mischievous, always looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. It’s hard to tell them apart as they are basically identical in both looks and personality.
Hamm (Toy Story)
Solid comic relief coming from this pig, he is quick to have a comeback although his sassiness can be biting. He’s also acutely aware that he could be a meal for the next toy given the human’s taste for pork.
He’s often having to calm down Rex after he freaks out over the next event, although the two are close after being together for so long.
Israel Hands (Treasure Planet)
The largest and strongest member of John Silver’s pirate crew, Hands falls to his death during the mutiny. A Densadron pirate, he is extremely violent but at his core is still a coward.
Hank (Finding Dory)
A septopus because his loss of a leg means he feels he can’t be an octopus, he helps Dory. He can use camouflage to hide in plain sight, and Dory benefits from his help big time although he did take some time to forgive her for her delaying tactics.
He is normally a bright red with large eyes, but can blend into his surroundings when he wants to be a little less conspicuous.
Prince Hans (Frozen)
Part of a rather large family of 13, and being the youngest at that, he contemplates regicide. His innocent demeanor hides a desperate desire for power, possibly to make up for the torment he went through at the hands of his brothers.
As Princess Anna’s ex-fiancé, his attempts to use the throne of Arendelle as a way to gain power turns him into the arch-nemesis.
Happy (Snow White)
Happy is looking to get merry, and is happiest when eating food, and dancing. He is a rotund fellow with a typical garden gnome appearance. His optimistic nature is important for the group’s morale.
Happy is one of the Seven Dwarfs, he helps bring Snow White in after she tells them she’s been forced to flee from the queen’s queendom.
Dean Hardscrabble (Monsters University)
Dean of the School of Scaring, Dean Hardscrabble is an anthropomorphized Amazonian giant centipede.
Not taking any shenanigans on her watch, she likes to fail students especially if they rub her up the wrong way. While she initially gives Sulley and Mike a hard time, over the course of knowing them, the Dean warms up to them and eventually becomes more friendly.
This is a foreshadowing of the immense talent that Mike and Sulley have to scare, as they even scare rangers.
Harris (Brave)
Another one of the red-headed triplets, Harris is often part of group mischief involving the pilfering of candy along with his brothers.
Although they mean well, their penchant for sticking their nose where it shouldn’t, or trying to reach somewhere they can’t, often results in destruction.
Harvey Fenner (The Princess and the Frog)
The taller of the two brothers, they are real estate agents. They originally rent out the old sugar mill to Tiana but then come back at her with some codswallop about another bidder while also impugning her ability to pay the rent.
Harvey shows that he doesn’t have a whole lot of time for anything other than greed and being selfish.
Colonel Hathi (The Jungle Book)
The head of the Jungle Patrol herd of elephants, he runs them in a military fashion. This causes many elephants in his troop to be unsatisfied and looking to get out.
The oldest animal of the jungle, he makes sure order is maintained and obedience is always required, using a small switch with leaves as a type of whip.
Heathcliff (Big Hero 6)
The Frederickson family butler, he is a former spy who helps Big Hero 6 in his endeavors. His invaluable assistance to Boss Awesome, including saving his life, led Boss Awesome to take on Heathcliff as a butler, enabling him to lay low from the dangers of being a spy.
Heathcliff ensures that Boss Awesome’s son, Frederick Flamarion ‘Fred’ Frederickson IV, stays out of trouble and acts as a mentor.
Hector Rivera (Coco)
Miguel’s great-great grandfather, he helps Miguel in his quest to find the famous singer Ernesto de la Cruz. The family connection is unrealized until much later, as Hector’s time in the Land of the Dead has meant Miguel has had time to grow up.
Heihei (Moana)
A clumsy rooster, his presence on the adventure is due to accidentally stowing away on Moana’s Boat. Giving new meaning to the phrase birdbrain, his bulbous eyes stare off into nothing. Quite likely the stupidest and dumbest character in all of Disney history.
Heimlich (A Bug’s Life)
With his trademark German accent, Heimlich the caterpillar is a clown in PT Flea’s Circus. Although eventually turning into a butterfly, likely due to the extremely short time he spent in the cocoon and his immense weight, he can’t really fly with his tiny wings.
He tends to get transported around on Dim, the rhino beetle.
Helga Sinclair (Atlantis)
A lieutenant tasked with finding Atlantis. She is a bold and fearless character, willing to punch right through social norms to do what needs to be done. She also is not willing to stand on ceremony and in fact has a rather ruthless streak.
Henry Fenner (The Princess and the Frog)
The shorter, plumper Fenner who enjoys a slice of bread. Although willing to invent certain stories to help get a better deal, they are in fact quite cowardly when push comes to shove.
Henry J Waternoose (Monsters, inc.)
CEO and eventual villain, he thinks up the scheme of causing real danger to children to get the most out of their screams. Telling everyone that children were poisonous to the touch, he has the facade of being a good boss with everyone’s best interests at heart.

The future-telling magical pet pig of Taran. He is the target of the evil Horned King due to his knowledge regarding the Black Cauldron and is even tortured to reveal its location.

Wife of Zeus and loving mother of Hercules, she is very protective of him but otherwise wants the best for her son.

Often conveying vital information between the Gods, he can fly at super speed as well as having the ability to control magic through the use of his staff.
He is quite lost without his glasses, not because they are the source of his magic but more that his eyesight is so terrible.

Olivia Flaversham’s father, he has a distinctive Scottish accent and runs a toyshop in London, showing great dexterity and creativity in making a variety of toys.
Hiro Hamada (Big Hero 6)
Leader of the Big Hero 6 organization, he has made a variety of battle suits. He is a genius who attends the institute, making a variety of inventions as needed.
Sir Hiss (Robin Hood)
A snake with a cute red hat, he used hypnosis to send King Richard off on the crusades. He works with Prince John to achieve his dream of eventually ruling over England. However, his big mouth often gets him into trouble, along with his armchair critiques of Prince John.

Finn McMissile sometimes needs some help completing missions, and spy Holley Shiftwell is up to the task. Stationed in Tokyo and has a huge range of spy gadgets, including cameras and weapons.
General Hologram (Wreck-it Ralph)
AKA General Lockload, he guards the Medal of Heroes. Hailing from the arcade game Hero’s Duty, if any player makes it to the 99th floor of Hero’s Duty tower, their award is the coveted Medal of Heroes.
Honey Lemon (Big Hero 6)
Bubbly to the point of annoying, she’s a chemistry genius and a vital part of Big Hero 6. Her experiments can sometimes end up in disaster, such as the time she had to move out of her shared house after freezing the building.
Honeymaren (Frozen 2)
Stuck inside the Enchanted Forest due to a curse, she eventually is helped by Elsa and Anna despite initially being hostile towards them. Elsa’s use of magic however reveals her true power and Honeymaren eventually drops resistance to her.

Constantly pursued by a giant crocodile that gives off a menacing tick, Captain Hook sports his namesake on his left arm. He is an adept fighter, using both his hook and a sword to fight off enemies, with Peter Pan’s ability the only thing really stopping the superior fighter Hook.

The leader of the Pub Thugs, his dreams of being a concert pianist were shattered with the removal of his hand. However, he eventually is shown how to get around this disability.
Hopper (A Bug’s Life)
A grasshopper who is terrified of birds, he bullies the ants. Together with Thumper and Molt, he uses physical violence and intimidation to get his way. He takes advantage of the ants because he can, showing him to be lacking in morals.
Horace Badun (101 Dalmatians)
A member of Cruella’s henchmen, he has no issues doing crime. He generally wears a brown shirt with black blazer. When finding out that the plan involves stealing and killing almost 100 puppies, his response is merely that he will make the list on a crime TV show.
Horned King (The Black Cauldron)
A wicked monarch intent on using the power of the Black Cauldron to unleash an army of unstoppable warriors called the Cauldron Born.
He commands an evil army composed of many different beings, although his own origin story is not clear, even to his close confidants. His rotting flesh likely shows him to be a lich or undead, but he does at least consume food and drink.
Horst (Ratatouille)
A sous-chef with a possible criminal past, he’s not a fan of Remy. Exactly what he did is unclear, and seeing as the details tend to change every time he tells the story, it could be that he is making the whole thing up.
Hubert (Brave)
The third of the trio, his penchant for sweets along with his brothers causes him to go to some lengths to obtain the sweet treat. The bright red hair and adorable faces means you can’t stay mad at the triplets for long.
King Hubert (Sleeping Beauty)
King Hubert is friends with King Stefan but falls into an enchanted sleep along with Aurora. He tries to warn the others but doesn’t quite do so in time.
Hugo (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame)
A nasty character whose only purpose is to spread pain and suffering, he works for Satan. His name could be a reference to the original author of the The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Victor Hugo, considering the other gargoyle is called Victor.
He is part of a trio of sentient gargoyles that live in Notre-Dame.
The Huntsman (Snow White)
A servant of the queen, he is tasked with taking out Snow White but can’t bring himself to do it, instead urging her to run away.
His loyalty to the queen is somewhat shaken when seeing how innocent Snow White is and realizing how vain she is to have a rival killed just for her beauty.
