As far as the locations of Dr.STONE are concerned, there are many intriguing ones in the series, and Treasure Island, which is also the home of the Petrification Kingdom, is certainly among the most popular and important ones. The setting of the current anime arc, the Treasure Island Arc, the island is exceptionally important, and it was the setting of one of the best adventures in the series. Now, we have chronicled this arc in several articles, so this article will focus on its ending. In this article, we are going to talk about the mysterious signal sent in Senku’s voice and explain what all of that was about anyway.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • After Ibara’s defeat and the conclusion of the conflict on Treasure Island, a mysterious signal from far away attempted to activate the Petrification Weapons remotely, but that attempt failed.
  • What turned out was that the signal was actually Senku’s voice, which was shocking, although it turned out that Why-man used a synthetic copy of Senku’s voice to do what he wanted to do.
  • This has given birth to numerous theories about the Why-man’s identity, including those that it could be Senku or an iteration of Senku from the past or future.

“Senku” tried to activate the Petrification Weapon from a distance? That is both true and false!

We know that after the end of the battles on Treasure Island, i.e., after Ibara’s downfall, Senku and his allies could enjoy some peace as they were ready to repair the damaged Perseus so that they could continue sailing further across the ocean. But then – a strange thing happened. A mysterious signal from a large distance appeared, and it tried to activate the Petrification Weapons remotely. Luckily, the attempt failed, but it was shocking in more ways than one.

First, the heroes realized that the signal tried to petrify the whole Earth once again, as the distance was stated as being Earth’s diameter (12,800,000 meters) and the time as 1 second. Senku and his allies realized that the signal came from the Moon, which helped them significantly, as they were able to determine the source; of course, getting to the Moon was a wholly different thing, and it was a far more complex task, but that is a completely different topic.

Secondly, as Ukyo noted, the voice that the signal was in was – Senku’s voice! It seemed that Why-man was able to use Senku’s voice, which shocked everyone. Although Ukyo deduced that the voice was just a synthetic copy used to confuse everyone, it still caused some major issues in the story, but the biggest “catch” was that a lot of fans, at the time, suspected that Why-man, the source of the signal, could actually be Senku. Is he?

Is Senku really Why-man? Theory explained!

As we have said, the fact that Why-man used Senku’s voice initiated a series of theories that Senku might actually be Why-man. It’s not the Senku we’re following in the main storyline, but rather a different version or iteration of the same characters. Although there are numerous theories, the one by Reddit user SkullKrusher17 was one of the better ones we’ve found, so here it is:

What does Dr. Stone really mean? It’s the title of the series but there’s still no clear answer on its meaning. Is Dr. Stone just another name for Senku? Early on it was said Dr. Stone was soap but it has had no focus whatsoever sense the Ishigami Village arc. Is the Dr. Stone the revival fluid? Is the Dr Stone the petrification itself because it can even heal death?

Well I think Dr Stone is Why-man. The healing power of the stone was intentional and why-man (Dr. Stone) chose to petrify the world to save them. Many reasons why this could have happened (He’s curing every disease, he could have been trying to just heal one person and accidentally petrified the whole world, etc).

So I think this Dr. Stone guy is just some crazy mad scientist from america (The title of the series is in english and the moon base is near the american flag) or it could be senku from the future or his dad (His last name in english would be Stone God,, Why man might see himself as a god) I think the reason Senku recognized whoever it was would provide more evidence for the latter idea but I also think that there could be a traitor in the Kingdom of Science that works for Why-man.

More evidence for Senku being Why-Man would be that from what we’ve seen in the series Senku is the only one from the beginning who would theoretically fit all the characteristics. He (and Xeno) would be the only one smart enough to figure out a Medusa.

But how are there two Senkus? Well that’s because it’s Senku from the future. Now this is the point where a lot of people completely disregarded this theory as a whole. After all for a series that prides itself on being scientifically accurate time travel is pure science fiction. Actually that’s not true. Time travel is theoretically completely possible: to the future by moving X% the speed of light and to the past by travelling through a wormhole.

A possibility could be Senku in the future becomes an astronaut and wants to prevent some sort of global catastrophe and he finds a wormhole of some sort in space and is sent back in time and he tries to fix it. This would also explain how tech to advanced is even possible. Also why it likes to use a synthesized version of Senku’s voice and no one else’s, and why we see why man as a version of Senku. The reason he uses a synthesized version of his voice would be because he hasn’t communicated with other people in so long he lost function in his voice, and that’s also why he doesnt talk like he used to (uses please and thank you)

Also this would explain why Why-man appears as Senku, not just because it’s a synthesized voice as seen here

Now, most theories are based on the same arguments, but we presented you with the best-explained one. And this is really a solid theory that accounts for everything – it connects all the dots, it explains all the facts we’ve seen, and it is certainly interesting in more ways than one. Sadly – it’s not true. We can confirm that Senku is not Why-man, so while this theory is really good, it is not true. The series immediately confirmed that Senku’s voice was artificial, so it was made clear that it was not really Senku, only someone imitating his voice.
