Elektra’s MCU Comeback Just Got a Full Costume Reveal in ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 3

Marvel’s Netflix era has been quietly staging one of the biggest reunions in recent television memory, and fans have spent months piecing together clues about who might show up next. ‘Daredevil Born Again’ has already leaned hard into nostalgia, bringing familiar faces back into Matt Murdock’s orbit as the Disney+ series pushes toward its next chapter.

That slow drip of casting confirmations has largely centered on the surviving members of the old Defenders lineup, with speculation swirling for weeks about whether one particular fan favorite would ever return to the fold. Production on Season 3 has been underway in New York for months, and set photos have surfaced steadily enough to suggest Marvel is fully embracing the throwback energy this time around.

That speculation was finally put to rest when new footage and photos confirmed Elodie Yung is back in action as Elektra Natchios. Yung was spotted filming on the season’s set in Dumbo, Brooklyn, marking her first appearance in the role since 2017’s ‘The Defenders’. The clip, shared by the account MikeeeNiken on X, shows a brief look at Yung in character, and it lines up with a wave of similar sightings that have been circulating online in recent weeks.

The costume itself has become the real talking point among fans poring over the images. Elektra’s updated look blends her classic comic book design with the grounded, tactical style associated with the Netflix era Daredevil series, featuring a deep red and black color scheme with a sleeveless vest, leather pants, combat boots, and forearm wraps with fingerless gloves. The new suit is not entirely comic accurate, but it carries noticeably more red than her old Netflix costume and reads as far more superhero styled, right down to the bandana she now wears around her head instead of over her face.

Yung is joining an already stacked returning roster. Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones after her Season 2 appearance, while Mike Colter and Finn Jones are reprising Luke Cage and Danny Rand respectively, giving ‘Daredevil Born Again’ the unmistakable shape of a full Defenders reunion. Some set images have even caught Yung filming alongside Charlie Cox, teasing the kind of onscreen chemistry longtime viewers have been waiting years to see again.

Elektra Is Back and Her New Costume in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 Is Already Breaking the Internet

The bigger mystery is what Elektra’s return actually means for the story. Her history with the franchise is complicated, since she died fighting the Hand near the end of Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ Season 2 before being resurrected under Sigourney Weaver’s villainous Alexandra Reid in ‘The Defenders’. Insiders have suggested Bullseye may be tracking Danielle Cage this season, with a possible showdown between Bullseye and Elektra also in play, though nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios itself.

For now, the studio has stayed quiet on how large a role Elektra will actually play, letting the leaked set footage do all the talking. ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 3 is currently targeting a March 2027 premiere on Disney+, giving fans plenty of time to speculate before Elektra officially steps back into Hell’s Kitchen. With Matt Murdock’s own situation reportedly complicated heading into the new season, how do you think Elektra’s return will shake up the balance of power in ‘Daredevil Born Again’?
