‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Villain Emma Corrin Reveals Marvel’s Decision Against Providing a Personal Trainer

Months before the teaser trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ dropped, rumors circulated that Emma Corrin would play the villain, Cassandra Nova. These rumors were confirmed by the US Copyright Listing and later by the official IMDb page. Cassandra Nova, a character from the comics, has a pretty gruesome backstory.

It appears that this gruesome tale will be faithfully adapted in the upcoming movie, as Nova has been described in many ways, none of them pleasant.

Here’s what you need to know about Cassandra Nova: she’s clever, sadistic, and has a very dark sense of humor. She’s extremely dangerous and won’t hesitate to kill your favorite characters. Most importantly, she’s a significant threat to the Multiverse.

While some information about the villain has been confirmed and some remains strictly rumored, we’ll have to wait for the movie to learn more about her. The actress behind the villain, Emma Corrin, recently discussed the character with British GQ’s Actually Me and revealed that the studio refused to provide her with a personal trainer, deeming it unnecessary.

This is funny because I did ask if I could have a personal trainer, and they said no. They said I don’t have to undergo any physical training. I was so ready to undergo a huge transformation, but they were like, ‘That’s absolutely not required of you. Please stand down.’ I tried.

This makes sense, considering Corrin is already in good shape, especially if their character doesn’t need to be overly muscular.

Emma Corrin made their television debut in 2019 with guest appearances in the ITV detective drama ‘Grantchester’ and a recurring role in the Epix DC series ‘Pennyworth,’ so they are no stranger to superhero media. Corrin gained widespread recognition for their portrayal of Princess Diana in the fourth season of Netflix’s ‘The Crown,’ earning several accolades, including a Golden Globe Award, a Critics’ Choice Television Award, and an Emmy nomination.

They have two movies coming up this year: ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ which hits theaters in less than a month, and ‘Nosferatu,’ currently in post-production. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
