Every TV Show The CW Canceled This Season
The CW was previously known for giving their shows early renewals despite the constant droppings in viewership, but this season they turned the table and currently they canceled more shows than any other American broadcasting network.
Some of these cancelations didn’t sit well with the fans, especially because their popular DC universe, commonly known as Arrowverse, only has two shows remaining, and they have also put an end to The Vampire Diaries franchise after 13 years. In the rest of this article, we’re going to tell you which shows The CW canceled this season. Which of these shows you’re going to miss the most?
4400: Pronounced “forty-four hundred” was developed as a reboot of the 2004 TV series of the same name. It premiered last October, and The CW recently canceled it after only one 13-episode season.
Batwoman: The Arrowverse series premiered in 2019 with Ruby Rose playing the role of Kate Kane/Batwoman. After the first season, Ruby Rose departed the show and Javicia Leslie was cast as Ryan Wilder, an original character who took the mantle of Batwoman. Leslie was the show’s lead in the second and the third season, after which The CW decided to end it.
Charmed: A reboot of the WB series of the same name which aired between 1998 and 2006. The series premiered in October of 2018, and the fourth season premiered in March this year. The fourth season will conclude on June 10, 2022, but The CW already announced there will not be Season 5.
Dynasty: A TV series based on the 1980s prime time soap opera of the same name. The series premiered in October 2017, and the fifth season premiered in December 2021. The fifth season aired 14 out of 22 episodes so far, but after that, The CW confirmed the series will not return for the sixth season.
In the Dark: The CW original series that premiered in April 2019. The fourth season will premiere on June 6, 2022. The CW confirmed the series will not return for the fifth season.
Legacies: A spin-off of The Originals, which aired on the CW between 2013 and 2018. The series premiered in October 2018. The fourth season, consisting of 20 episodes will conclude on June 16, 2022. The CW confirmed there will not be Season 5.
Legends of Tomorrow: An Arrowverse series premiered in 2016, and although the fans hoped there will be one final season to conclude the storyline, The CW canceled the show after seven seasons and the series was left on a cliffhanger. Not a very nice way to end a show that was around for the last seven seasons.
Naomi: The newest DC series on the network. It premiered last January, and The CW decided to cancel it after only one, 13-episode season.
Roswell, New Mexico: A series that premiered in January 2019. The fourth season is set to premiere on June 6, 2022, but the CW announced the series will not return for Season 5.
That’s nine live-action TV shows that The CW canceled, which is showing they’re not satisfied with the viewership of the network and they decided it’s time for some change. Still, there are a bunch of shows that will return next season; All American, All American: Homecoming, The Flash, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Superman & Lois, Walker, and the new series Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence, and The Winchesters will be added to the network’s schedule next season. We can only hope The CW know what they’re doing.
