Everything Calls for Salvation, originally titled Tutto chiede salvezza, is an Italian Netflix Original series that premiered on the platform on October 14 this year. The dramedy is based on a novel of the same name, and it really caught wind in the first week of streaming. That made many fans wonder – will Everything Calls for Salvation have a second season?

The second season of Everything Calls for Salvation has not been confirmed nor denied officially yet. The first season ends with quite a complete arc, so it wouldn’t be crazy if the show simply ended here. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Netflix renewed the show for a new season. 

There’s still a lot to explore in Daniele’s life after the psychiatry ward, and the show’s success could nudge the platform into making season two happen, revolving around Daniele’s life after the newfound self-consciousness he got during his tenure in the ward. As I’ve already mentioned in the introduction, Everything Calls for Salvation Season 1 just premiered on October 14. As of now, there’s no official word from the platform about a potential second season for the show, so it’s hard to speculate on a potential release date.

If the show does end up being renewed for a new season, however, I believe the production will be completed fairly quickly – in no more than 12-14 months after the renewal goes into production. There’s not a lot of CGI or special effects needed, so the production doesn’t take as much time and effort.

That being said, we can’t possibly know for certain if Season 2 of Everything Calls for Salvation will ever happen. As you now know, the show was based on a novel of the same name and followed the storyline fairly closely. The first season finished at the same point as the novel, so it wouldn’t be crazy to think the show could simply end there as a one-season mini-series.

However, the first season has great reviews, and people seem really hooked on it, so perhaps Netflix decides to renew the show for another season, taking their own route and focusing the story on Daniele after his psychiatric ward tenure and how he copes with everyday life. It could be a great new plot, but it would require some excellent writing.

You probably figured out by now that there’s no official word about the plot of a potential second season of Everything Calls for Salvation. However, we know how Season 1 ended, so if Season 2 would happen, we know where the story can pick up.

Daniele is now out of the psychiatry ward, but one can argue that he has more on his mind now than he did before getting in there. The plot would follow Daniele and his life after the experience, showcasing how he’s coping with his newfound self-awareness and all the things that transpired during his time in the clinic.

Some characters may return and potentially cross paths with Daniele, but the change in the main place of action would likely condition a change in the overall tone and pacing of the show.
