Fans Get a New Look at ‘The Batman Part II’ as Fresh Set Photos and Videos Surface
Glasgow has worn a lot of disguises over the years, doubling for everything from Gotham City to Manhattan depending on which blockbuster happens to be rolling through town. But for fans of Matt Reeves’ brooding take on the Caped Crusader, the Scottish city carries a very specific meaning.
Production has returned to those same familiar streets for the long-awaited sequel, with a three-week shoot mapped out across locations including the Broomielaw, the Glasgow Bridge, the Kingston Bridge, North Street, and the National Cycle Route 75 along the River Clyde. Fans have spent the summer piecing together road closures, cast sightings, and grainy set photos to figure out what exactly Reeves is building this time around.
Now a new image has given them something juicier to chew on. Freshly surfaced set photos show the Batmobile itself sitting on a transporter with a significant dent along its side, suggesting the iconic vehicle takes a serious hit somewhere in ‘The Batman: Part II.’
The damaged car looks nearly identical to the muscle car Bruce Wayne drove in 2022’s ‘The Batman,’ aside from a few subtle tweaks. Notably, the same transporter was also carrying a second, undamaged car shell, which suggests the production built multiple versions of the vehicle specifically for stunt work.
Additional footage circulating from the Glasgow shoot has given fans an even closer look at the car in motion, showing off its jet-black finish and exposed rear engine as it moved through the city streets. It is a familiar sight for anyone who remembers the first film’s tense car chase between Batman and Oz Cobb, which ended with Cobb’s vehicle flipped and mangled on the pavement.
Robert Pattinson is once again suiting up as the Dark Knight, joined by a returning cast that includes Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, and Colin Farrell reprising his role as The Penguin. The sequel is also bringing in some notable new additions to Gotham’s rogues’ gallery.
Sebastian Stan has joined the film in an undisclosed role, with fans speculating he could be playing either Harvey Dent or the serial killer Victor Zsasz. Scarlett Johansson has also signed on, and speculation points toward her potentially taking on Poison Ivy, though nothing has been confirmed. Additional behind-the-scenes details have fueled fan theories that the mysterious Court of Owls could factor heavily into the sequel’s plot as well.
‘The Batman: Part II’ has not had a smooth path toward release. The film was originally targeted for an October 2025 debut before facing multiple delays, eventually landing on a February 18, 2028 release date.
Given how far out that date still is, the flood of leaked set photos and videos has become something of a lifeline for fans eager for any scrap of information. Every glimpse of a damaged Batmobile or unnamed cast member adds another piece to a puzzle that Warner Bros. has otherwise kept tightly under wraps.
For now, all anyone really knows for certain is that Gotham’s guardian is headed for more chaos, and that whatever wrecked that Batmobile is likely to be a major set piece when ‘The Batman: Part II’ finally arrives. Reeves has built a reputation for grounded, practical filmmaking, and these early glimpses suggest that commitment hasn’t wavered heading into the sequel.
