Fans Call Out Double Standards in MCU Nude Scenes Featuring Thor and Agatha “She’s like 50…”
“Agatha All Along” debuted just a few days ago to an enthusiastic response from fans. Set three years after “WandaVision,” the show follows Agatha Harkness as she returns to Westview after her imprisonment, now powerless.
In the first episode, Agatha remains trapped in her Agnes persona, navigating familiar true crime tropes. As the story unfolds, subtle hints tied to magic and Wanda begins to jog her memories.
After “Agnes” meets the Teen, she realizes that the dead body she was investigating was merely a figment of her imagination, leading her to break free from her confinement. Agatha steps outside completely naked and confronts her neighbor for playing along with her “fantasy.”
Both Kathryn Hahn and the showrunner later revealed that the decision for Hahn to appear in the scene naked was her idea, intended to illustrate Agatha’s vulnerability without her magic.
While the scene was both humorous and symbolic, it faced some criticism regarding Hahn’s appearance. Fans quickly pointed out that Thor was also nude in “Love and Thunder,” and that scene garnered little backlash. In fact, many enjoyed it for various reasons—some for Chris Hemsworth and others for the humor.
Fans quickly began either defending their views or agreeing with the original poster:
Some fans also noted that Thor’s nude scene raised concerns, suggesting it was comparable to a sexual assault.
