Fans May Be Disappointed with Esposito’s MCU Role Reports Say: “It’s Robert Redford is Alexander Pierce Situation”

Giancarlo Esposito recently made headlines by expressing his desire to play Professor X in the MCU, but without the wheelchair, citing his age as a factor. This statement divided fans, as many still hope that Patrick Stewart will remain the primary Charles Xavier in the MCU, despite his character’s death in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
However, during a panel on Thunder Stage at CCXP, Esposito confirmed he will appear in a Marvel project, but clarified it will not be as Professor X.
Following the news of his casting, it’s confirmed that Esposito will appear as a villain in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ However, it won’t be Magneto or Doctor Doom. Esposito mentioned his character will show up in a Disney+ show, but it’s unclear if it will be a solo show or someone else’s due to his vague wording.
Despite set leaks and drawings of Esposito in costume, fans still can’t figure out his character. Expected villains like Count Nefaria have been ruled out, and sources say he isn’t Bushman, who would fit well in ‘Moon Knight’ Season 2.
A lesser-known scooper, Oh How I Marvel at Those Marvels, claims fans will be disappointed when they find out who Esposito is actually playing.
The leaker made a good comparison to what’s happening now. Robert Redford’s appearance in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ surprised everyone because he’s such a big name in the film industry and is known for supporting independent films. His role as Alexander Pierce was different from his usual characters, surprising viewers who saw him as an honest and good guy. Redford’s casting highlighted the movie’s theme of corruption in American institutions.
