Filming Dates Set for ‘Armor Wars’ and ‘Spider-Man 4’ in 2025 According to Reports

The MCU currently has numerous projects in development, both movies and shows, despite Iger’s announcement that their creative output will significantly decrease to 2-3 movies and 2 live-action shows per year.

Many projects were greenlit before the SAG-AFTRA strike and the subsequent failure of several ventures, and now they need to be completed.

One such project is ‘Armor Wars.’ Initially conceived as a movie, it was redeveloped into a show, and now it’s back to being a movie again. According to the production schedule, ‘Armor Wars’ is set to begin filming on January 6, 2025, in Atlanta, USA. Although details about the movie are scarce, the production listing has provided a brief synopsis:

Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands. Stark discovers that someone has been stealing his Iron Man tech and selling it to supervillains. He decides he must do whatever it takes to reacquire — or destroy — the stolen tech.

Lois D’Esposito is listed as a producer alongside Kevin Feige, with Sarah Finn credited as the casting director and Yassir Lester as the writer. Currently, the only confirmed cast member for the project is Don Cheadle. Additionally, Sam Rockwell has reportedly been in talks with executives to reprise his role as Justin Hammer.

‘Spider-Man 4’ is also scheduled to begin production on the same day, January 6, in Los Angeles. The synopsis for the movie states the following:

Rumored plot points for Spider-Man 4 include the introduction of Venom and Miles Morales to the MCU. Additionally, Spider-Man may team up with Daredevil to confront Kingpin. Production to start in the begining of 2025.

Here’s where we encounter a significant issue: the accompanying data are quite outdated. While this is common for production listings, it does reduce their credibility somewhat.

According to the listing, Jon Watts is still set to direct the movie, with Jonathan Bell, Lois D’Esposito, and Kevin Feige as producers. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna are listed as writers, with Sarah Finn as the casting director. The listing mentions Tom Holland as the only confirmed cast member, despite recent confirmations that Zendaya will reprise her role.

Holland also recently mentioned that the script is not yet finished and that they are exploring several different sources. So, take this ‘Spider-Man’ listing with a grain of salt.
