Fresh Glimpse of Charlie Cox in a Comic-Accurate Black Suit on ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 2 Set

Charlie Cox is back in action, and we’ve got our first peek at him suited up on the set of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2. This time, he’s trading in the classic red for a sleek black look that’s turning heads.

Cox, who plays the blind lawyer-turned-vigilante Matt Murdock, has been spotted filming in New York City. The new black suit stands out with its darker vibe, a fresh twist for the Man Without Fear. It’s a nod to some of the comic book designs where Daredevil dons darker gear, like during the intense ‘Shadowland’ storyline. I can’t help but think it suits the gritty streets of Hell’s Kitchen perfectly.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is a revival of the popular Netflix series that ran from 2015 to 2018. After that show ended, Cox popped up in the MCU, making quick appearances in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’. Now, he’s leading his own series again on Disney+, picking up where the Netflix story left off. Season 1 is already underway, diving into Matt’s battle with old foe Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, who’s now climbing the ranks as New York’s mayor.

What’s cool about this black suit? It’s not just a style choice. In the comics, Daredevil’s darker outfits often tie to big changes in his life, like taking over the Hand ninja clan. While we don’t know the exact plot for Season 2 yet, this look could hint at a tougher, stealthier Matt Murdock. Maybe he’s laying low or facing a new threat that calls for a different approach.

The show itself is a big deal for Marvel. It’s split into two seasons, with Season 1 airing now and Season 2 expected in 2026. Alongside Cox, familiar faces like Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson are back, joined by Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. The cast keeps growing, with fresh names like Michael Gandolfini jumping in too.

I love how this series keeps the dark, hard-hitting tone from the Netflix days. It’s not your typical bright-and-shiny superhero tale. With Fisk running the city and new villains like the creepy Muse stirring trouble, Matt’s got his work cut out for him. The black suit just adds to that intense, no-nonsense feel.

We first saw Cox as Daredevil in the original series, where he started with a simple black outfit before getting the iconic red suit. Since joining the MCU, he’s worn a red-and-yellow version too, but this black getup feels like a bold return to his roots with a modern edge. It’s got that classic Daredevil flair, perfect for late-night rooftop fights.

Filming for Season 2 is happening now, and these set photos are just the start. I’m betting we’ll see more of this suit in action soon, maybe even with some clues about where Matt’s headed next. For now, it’s clear Charlie Cox is ready to bring the heat as Daredevil once again.
