“Let’s Shoot This Piece Of Shi*”: Harrison Ford’s Comments on ‘Captain America 4’ Set Spark Concerns Among Fans
“Captain America: Brave New World” is the next chapter in the MCU. The film has experienced significant development challenges over the past few years, resulting in multiple delays.
The latest reshoots reportedly incurred substantial costs, and the first trailer faced heavy criticism for Red Hulk’s CGI and the inclusion of Sabra, a Zionist superhero in the comics and a former Black Widow in the upcoming movie.
Now, regarding the Red Hulk, Harrison Ford will be portraying Thaddeus Ross in the movie, succeeding the late William Hurt. Ford will not only take on the presidential role but also the honor of playing Ruby Goliath in the MCU. He has made some intriguing comments during the film’s development. From feigning ignorance about Red Hulk to admitting he took the role primarily for the money, Ford has provided a wealth of memorable quotes related to ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’
About a year ago, Anthony Mackie admitted he was extremely nervous around Ford on set, to the point of forgetting his lines. Ford reassured him in his signature style by saying, “Let’s shoot this piece of shi*.”
The first day was so intimidating. I was so fucking nervous I couldn’t remember my lines. He’s Harrison fucking Ford. There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of shit.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this shit.
Variety
Apparently, this phrase is something Ford often uses on the set of his films, and it doesn’t reflect the actual quality of the movie (hopefully). However, the resurfaced interview has given fans another reason to doubt the movie’s potential success.
In any case, some of the commentary is hilarious, and some of Ford’s subsequent remarks might be interpreted as him genuinely disliking the movie, though it’s most likely all in good humor.
