Henry Cavill’s Superman Salary Falls Short Compared to Tyler Hoechlin’s Earnings on ‘Superman & Lois’

Superman is one of the most beloved fictional characters ever and has been adapted into many movies. Many actors have played the role, including Henry Cavill in the failed DCEU and Tyler Hoechlin in Superman and Lois on CW.
Cavill lost his role as Superman when James Gunn and Peter Safran decided to reboot the cinematic universe after the DCEU didn’t do well. Hoechlin’s time as Superman is also ending, as reports say the current fourth season of Superman and Lois will be the last, partly due to Gunn’s influence.
Given the DCEU’s budget and the success of Man of Steel, it seems like Cavill would earn much more than Hoechlin. However, that’s not the case.
When Cavill starred in Man of Steel in 2013, he made about $300,000, which was a typical starting salary for a new superhero lead. His earnings increased as he gained fame, especially with roles like in The Witcher, where he reportedly earned $400,000 per episode in the first season and $1 million per episode in the second. For his cameo in Black Adam, he received $250,000.
This isn’t unusual, as actors often renegotiate their contracts. Hoechlin, on the other hand, makes between $100,000 and $200,000 per episode. Since Superman & Lois usually has around 15 episodes each season, that can add up to millions.
It’s important to note that TV shows typically pay actors per episode, which can result in a higher total salary for the season. When Cavill first played Superman, he wasn’t a major star yet, so his salary was lower. Hoechlin gained more recognition through his role in a popular TV show.
If the DCEU had continued, we’re sure Cavill would have earned a lot more. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
