Here’s How To Get Sims Drunk & How Their Moodlets Will Change

Share:

Undoubtedly, The Sims 4 is the best life simulator on the market. EA Games and Maxis took their time, sporadically implemented various real-life aspects, and immersed the players even more in the Sim world. The WooHoo option, kissing, dancing, playing video games, and other aspects of the Sims 4 only enriched the player experience. However, one aspect of the Sim’s life was a mystery – drinking. In this article, we will investigate if Sims can get drunk and how their mood changes.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Sims cannot get drunk in the Sims 4. Even after years of new and realistic additions to the game, Sim cannot drink alcohol or get drunk.
  • However, if they drink too much “juice” or other beverage, the Sim will feel sick, and the moodlet will change. They cannot drink alcohol since it does not exist in a game, but the Sim feels sick and is not feeling well if you make it drink too much.
  • The moodlet of the Sim will change to nauseous, indicating similar effects of them getting ill.

Can Sims get drunk in The Sims 4?

Sims games always gave us many options we could use on our Sim and reflect our lives to the virtual characters. Of course, eating, drinking, and other existential needs are normal in these games; however, the Sims added other things to distinguish virtual and real life a bit more.

For example, the expansions that include fictional characters like werewolves, witches, and other magical beings made Sims even more entertaining.

With those quite outrageous additions to the game, Maxis also added new moodlets to Sims. You are probably wondering why I mentioned the random magical expansions for Sims. Maxis added werewolves, aliens, and spaceships to the game, with whom Sims can reproduce, but they failed to add the drinking alcohol option.

Of course, smoking and drinking are not included in games because children 11 to 13 years of age are one of the focus groups of the Sims 4. Still, on the other side, you have the whole WooHoo option that references the sexual intercourse two Sims engage in, which is quite bizarre, in my opinion.

Even though they cannot add alcohol to the game, Maxis decided to implement a simple compromise – the Sim will get drunk if it drinks too much juice. Some alleged alcoholic drinks that the Sim with Mixology skill can make subtly reference real-life alcoholic cocktails.

For example, Lotta Cocolata is a nod to Piña colada, the version of Cosmopolitan in the form of Simsmapolitan, Sunset Valley, and others. Some drinks give Sims different moodlets and perks – Dyed Cocktail gives Sim the option to dye their skin in a different color.

There are love potions, confidence booster drinks, and more that could be made with specific Sim Skills like Mixology or a special ingredient.

Of course, fans of the game decided to spice up the Sims gameplay and created the Sims 4 Alcohol & Drunk mod and CC that exploits “over-medicated” moodlets and tweaks up the Sims 4 gameplay.

Now that we have established that there is no alcohol in the Sims 4, various moodlets are connected to the drinking moveset, and ultimately find out the ways where you can get drunk Sims, we can now explain the moodlet aspect of the Sims a bit more.

How does the Sims mooodlet change when drinking too much?

One of the most important parts of the Sims 4 gameplay is the moodlets, or simply moods that kickstart certain Sim behavior. A dozen different moodlets are available in the Sims 4, so we will explain only the ones relevant to this topic.

So, we already mentioned that Sims could get “drunk” when drinking various juices, which suggests that the moodlets of Sims change as well. For example, the Sim that drinks a nice beverage will instantly get a Happy moodlet and be in a good mood. This particular trait boosts various other positive emotions like Flirty, Focused, Inspired, Energized, and more.

Most of the cocktails in the game provide just that – only the Shadow Realm or other specific cocktails connected to the specified expansion will grant your Sim other moodlets and effects.

Of course, the saying “Less is more” is relevant in the next case scenario – Sim that drinks too much will not be so happy anymore. The moodlet Happy will change into Uncomfortable, and the various stats will go in red – firstly, the one for Bladder.

Another moodlet that will appear if Sim drinks too much would be Nausea, a trait that points out your Sim is feeling unwell and will probably throw up. So yes, technically, the Sim will get different moodlets when drinking too much. Still, these moods are not exclusive to drinking – they are connected to the illness and food poisoning that can happen to Sim if it encounters a suspicious article.

Squeamish is another trait that can appear, but it is mostly exclusive to faulty food and smelly suspicious articles. Regardless, the fans decided to tweak and upgrade the Sims 4 experience and added the Alcohol & Drunk mod and CC, which contains special moodlets, new drinks (alcoholic) that the Sim can mix, and Sim behavior while drunk.

With this mod, your Sim can drink vine, whiskey, and other alcohol, and you can choose how long you want your Sim to stay drunk – three-hour flavor, six-hour flavor, and twelve-hour flavor.

After you pick the time, the Sim will start acting like a real drunk – it will dance, roll its eyes, feel sleepy, and walk like a true drunk person. New moodlets are also added to the game, like Dazed, which will be active as long as your pick time of being drunk. The mod we added is the best one for your Sim to try proper alcohol, but there are other cool CCs with which you can add more beverages to the game – you will find most on The Sims Resource and The Sims 4 Mods websites. Check out the Sims modders’ work; they are really talented.

The mod will add everything you need for your Sim to party with alcohol – take it easy, though; too many drinks never helped anybody.
