Minecraft: Here’s How To Give Enchanted Items To Other Players

Share:

It’s easy to give items to players that are close by. You simply drop the item, and they pick it up. If you’re feeling like gifting them the item ceremoniously, you can even gift them the enchanted item in a chest with a sign on it, but what happens when the two players are far away from each other? How do you give enchanted items to other players in Minecraft, then?

  • Article Breakdown:
  • You can give enchanted items to players easily using the /give command. To execute, type in ‘/give playername itemname‘. In practice, it would look something like this:.’/give GameHorizon minecraft:diamond_sword{Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:9}]}‘.
  • Of course, you can modify how many enchantments and what level they are as well.

How to give enchanted items to yourself?

To give yourself an enchanted item, all you need to do is type in the command from above and change the player name to your player name. It would look something like this.’/give GameHorizon minecraft:netherite_axe{Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:9}]}‘. Let’s explain what each part of the command means.

The give command is pretty self-explanatory; you give something to someone. What you can offer depends on what you can control within the game. As such, if you can use commands, you’re likely to be able to give anyone anything but let’s hold off on making this statement fact by testing it out later on.

With commands or cheats, as some call them, there’s virtually no limit on how strong the enchantment can be. Let’s take the sharpness enchantment as an example. In a game without commands, you can only get a sharpness V weapon, but using controls can make the enchantment level even higher.

Testing out different levels of enchantments

For some enchantments, it doesn’t make sense that you can give them a higher level than what they already have, but for others, it makes a lot of sense. Knockback is one where the result of getting it to a higher level than usual is self-evident. You can get it as high as level million even though it wouldn’t make sense after LVL 100.000 since the mobs you hit it with would be knockback into oblivion, far away from what your eyes can see.

Looting is another useful one where you could get hundreds of item drops with just one diamond ore if you increased its level to 1000. Of course, you can do more than that, and it does take the fun out of finding diamonds in a survival world since you can virtually get as many as you’d like.

I have to mention that perhaps the item with this level of looting could be made into a quest to strive for, and you could make it a unique, one-of-a-kind item on your server. The possibilities are endless, and only your creativity can stop you from making the item work in a world without being too overpowered.

Do you need cheats to give items to players and yourself?

There’s no way around it; you need cheats to give players items. The exception to the rule would be if you made the weapon as you would in a regular world and then gave it to a player by dropping the item or placing it in a chest for the player to take it. You’re also limited to the enchantments that the weapons are usually able to receive as well.

How to give players enchanted items using command blocks

You can also take advantage of using command blocks to give enchanted players items. This way, you don’t have to bother typing in the command every time since all you have to do after the fact is place a button or lever on the command block, and every time you press it, you’ll receive exactly the item you set in the command block.

You might not see how this would be useful at first, but when you realize that the command to give yourself a diamond sword with all the enchantments is this long.’/give @p diamond_sword{Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:5},{id:knockback,lvl:2},{id:fire_aspect,lvl:2},{id:looting,lvl:3},{id:sweeping,lvl:3},{id:unbreaking,lvl:3},{id:mending,lvl:1}]} 1‘ you quickly begin to realize how functional the command block is.

Sure, you can keep copy-pasting the command, but it’s a lot quicker to do it this way, more elegant and efficient. You can set up command blocks to give any player items. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. If you’re in Java, you’ll need to have cheats enabled.
  2. To give yourself a command block, type in the command /give yourplayeraname minecraft:command_block
  3. Place down the command block and put a button or lever on it by crouching down and pressing use on either the lever or button
  4. Then, enter the command block and type in any of the commands previously mentioned
  5. Now, every time you press the button, the command block will give that item to that player.

What is the command to spawn enchanted items?

You can virtually enchant any item with any command in Minecraft. To enchant these items, you only have to replace the slot after giving the player part of the command. If you wanted to enchant, let’s say, a boat, the command would then be.’/give GameHorizon minecraft:acacia_boat{Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:9}]}‘. But how do you make use of an enchanted boat?

You don’t; the enchantment would only work if the boat was in your hand and you used it as a weapon instead. If you placed the boat on top anywhere, it would stop glowing and be considered a regular boat. In your inventory, the boat glows as any other enchanted item does.

This way, you can even enchant fungus, flowers, and anything imaginable. Their uses are limited to their use in your hand, so it’s not exactly useful. If you want to surprise your friends or even trick them with these types of items, it’ll surely get a few laughs out of them.
