How to Become a Super Saiyan?

Saiyans are a well-known term among Dragon Ball fans, as they are a race of humanoid aliens from the planet Vegeta. While this probably won’t mean much for casual anime fans, when we say that Son Goku is a Saiyan and the most famous one, you’ll probably better understand who Saiyans are and their role in the story. They are, of course, extremely important. Still, aside from that, Saiyans also have some special abilities, and one of them is the Super Saiyan transformation which is, without a doubt, one of the most potent power-ups ever introduced in anime and manga in general. In this article, you will discover how a character can become a Super Saiyan.

How To Become a Super Saiyan?

Dragon Ball fans will know that Super Saiyan when first introduced to the series, was a truly major moment. Not only was it a major power-up in the series, but it also became a cultural phenomenon in that aspect, as every Dragon Ball fan wanted to become a Super Saiyan. It was a major effort as every child at the time imitated Goku in trying to become a Super Saiyan, but it was all in vain, as we’re sadly unable to do it. How do we know that? The series has revealed how one can activate Super Saiyan, so we can tell you all about it.

Normally, the Saiyans, when they manage to unleash a certain amount of energy, reach this state after a moment of rage, either from pain or from getting very angry, unleashing all the power and accumulating energy, which causes a change both at the energy level and at the body level.

However, Cabba discovers a mechanic that enables a Saiyan to transform by feeling a tingling sensation on his back by focusing the Saiyan’s energy on him. Thanks to this, Caulifla transforms without needing an attack of fury.

The Super Saiyan is, regardless of who the user is, evil by nature, and using it causes the Saiyan to become considerably evil, gaining evil and perversity within his body and soul, thus nullifying his purity of heart, so Gathering Genki to form a Genki-dama in this state is impossible as it is malicious by definition.

S cells, which are a microorganism found inside each Saiyan, are a key factor in transforming into a Super Saiyan since, apparently, these are what cause the transformation process.

Although all Saiyans have them, most of them do not have enough. A provocation in the body of a Saiyan, such as anger or concentrating energy in the back, causing a tingling sensation, causes a colossal increase in the S cells in the body, causing a change.

Having a calm heart is one of the best ways to increase a person’s S cells, but most Saiyans have a problem with this. However, a person cannot achieve the cells necessary to transform solely by having a calm heart, as a certain power level is necessary.

So, as you can see, specific conditions must be met for a Saiyan to enter Super Saiyan mode. It has to be noted that while everyone can get angry, this is not the only condition that has to be met. The most important thing to know is that one actually has to have some Saiyan blood in them, at least, as they have to be carriers of S cells, without which a Super Saiyan transformation is completely impossible.

And this is why all our attempts when we were children were in vain. Not only did we never become Super Saiyan warriors, but not even the hair on our heads rose up. As far as this is concerned, we now know why that was like that, but it was really an effort on our side, when we were children, to produce such results.

Of course, we were not Saiyans, and we had no S cells in our bodies, so the attempts were doomed from the start. Still, we do have to say that the mysteries of the Super Saiyan transformation were not known fully at the time, so we initially thought that all it took was enough rage and effort.

Sadly, a stroke or intracranial bleeding was more likely than anything else. Still, as far as we know, no one died while trying to become a Super Saiyan, but maybe someone in the wide universe succeeded, which would be a great episode of The Twilight Zone.

Can any Saiyan become a Super Saiyan?

The short answer is yes. Any Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan. As mentioned above, the transformation is only available to individuals who can produce and increase their S-Cells. Every Saiyan has S-Cells and can pass them, and the ability to produce them, down to their descendants, be they pure Saiyans, hybrids, or humans with a genetic link to the Saiyans.

Naturally, the fact that any Saiyan descendant has access to the transformation somewhat proves that each natural Saiyan can also access Super-Saiyan.
