In What Episode Does Naruto Use Baryon Mode?

As you probably know by now, the worlds of Naruto and Boruto have provided us with a series of brilliant fights that became – some of them, at least – trademark moments of the whole show. Now, some of these fights are interesting enough for us to discuss them here, and while a fight did inspire this article, we are not going to talk about a fight directly, but rather about a special technique (mode) accessed by Naruto during a fight in Boruto, also known as Baryon Mode.

Naruto Uzumaki first used Kurama’s special ability to activate Baryon Mode in Episode 216 of the Boruto anime; the title was “Sacrifice” and it premiered on September 19, 2021. The same storyline was later adapted in Chapter 51 of the Boruto manga, which came out on December 1, 2020 and was later collected in Volume 13.

The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to analyze the said technique in more detail. We are going to bring you an overview of the technique and the circumstances that led to its activation. We are also going to answer some additional questions about the technique to help you understand it fully.

When does Naruto use Baryon Mode?

As far as the storyline is concerned, Naruto activated Baryon Mode relatively late in the story and as things stand now, it was a one-time thing. The first time he used Kurama’s special ability to activate Baryon Mode was in Episode 216 of the Boruto anime; the title of the episode was “Sacrifice” and it premiered on September 19, 2021. The same storyline was later adapted in Chapter 51 of the Boruto manga, which came out on December 1, 2020, and was later collected in Volume 13.

What did Baryion Mode do to Naruto?

Naruto Uzumaki employs Baryon Mode in combination with Kurama. Kurama Mode is a distinct form from its origins, and Kurama describes it as a last resort that led to his demise. When Naruto becomes this form, he adopts several traits from Kurama, including his red eyes with vertical pupils, black markings that accentuate his whiskers, and black marks around his eyes that rise to resemble Kurama’s ears, connecting with his eyes. spiky hair He receives an orange chakra cloak with a spiral on the front that has nine lines encircling it, resembling Kurama’s fur.

In the center of the back, it has a spiral from which nine tails emerge, dividing into four tails that remain at the top and five at the bottom, each one connected to the spiral by a black line that runs through them. Similar to nuclear fusion, being a principle similar to how the sun produces its energy, Baryon Mode produces a new type of energy using Naruto’s and Kurama’s chakra as the core. As the raw material used to produce this new energy, Naruto’s and Kurama’s chakra is consumed as it creates it.

In this form activated by Kurama, Naruto gains an increase in the amount of chakra from him to the point of perplexing Isshiki Ōtsutsuki and Sasuke Uchiha. Similarly, Naruto’s reflexes, speed, and strength are increased to the point of being able to dodge and counter Isshiki’s attacks with a heavy impact, as well as catching his black spikes in midair before they return to their original size, Sasuke with his Sharingan stated that he could barely track them. Making use of his tails, he is capable of holding and throwing large amounts of weight, as he demonstrated by easily stopping a rapidly falling Isshiki cube.

Unlike other states, Naruto can interact with Isshiki’s cubes without his senses being altered. Baryon Mode reduces lifespan, and because all Chakra is interconnected, the same power that is produced by this serves to reduce the lifespan of other individuals upon making direct contact. Thanks to this ability, Naruto was able to decrease Isshiki’s life expectancy from twenty hours to less than ten minutes. As a last resort, due to the risk of death of Kurama himself, due to the consumption of energy, he asked Naruto not to make unnecessary movements or act based on useless thoughts, being the key to keeping the Baryon Mode active as long as possible. Kurama noted that Baryon Mode reduces lifespan while it is active.

After the Baryon Mode deactivates, Naruto passes out, a state of shock akin to death, which is the result of Kurama’s Tailed Beast chakra disappearing from within him. Because the chakra simply disappears and is not extracted, Naruto is not at risk of dying from the jinchūriki. However, he permanently loses the Beast’s chakra and all of its abilities when Kurama dies and disappears from within him.

Can Naruto still use Baryon Mode?

Baryon Mode is a technique that was accessible to Kurama, who later helped Naruto use it. Now that Kurama is dead, it is generally thought that Naruto cannot use Baryon Mode anymore. Now, this has not been explicitly confirmed in the series, but based on all the evidence we have and the facts presented in the series, we think that he is not able to use it anymore and won’t be unless Kurama somehow comes back to life.

Who can defeat Naruto in Baryon Mode?

Knowing that Baryon Mode is – by far – Naruto’s strongest form and a form in which he was able to surpass even Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, it still did not make him the strongest character in the whole series, although only a few characters are actually stronger than him in this form. One of them is, of course, Hashirama Senju, the first Hokage and the guy who managed to defeat Madara Uchiha, who had both Kurama and Susanoo.

Madara is the second character that comes to mind here, as he was an enormously powerful shinobi, especially with Kurama and Susanoo. The third character is Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the matriarch of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, who was defeated only because she had to be; objectively, she was more powerful than most. A fourth character that comes to mind is Itachi Uchiha, but he died so young that we never actually saw his full potential, which is why we’re not so sure about it, but he is another potential character.

Is Baryon mode Naruto’s strongest form?

We’ve seen Naruto evolve throughout the series from a young boy who knew only a couple of techniques, to a master shinobi versed in almost all kinds of techniques. He has evolved enormously and has demonstrated a lot of abilities, but among them, Baryon Mode definitely stands out as the most powerful one, as it gave him god-like abilities and made him almost invincible; he was even able to surpass Isshiki Ōtsutsuki himself.
