Yellowstone is one of the most compelling American drama series that you can watch today because of how it involves a lot of different elements that most people love in a high-quality drama series. Of course, Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler is one of the most popular characters in the series because of how big his role in the storyline is. He has been around since the very first season. However, is Cole Hauser leaving Yellowstone?
Cole Hauser will be reprising his role as Rip Wheeler in the upcoming fifth season of Yellowstone. This has already been confirmed ahead of the season 5 release. However, Hauser himself said that he could not guarantee what his character’s fate would be after the upcoming fifth season.
It is important to note that season 5 is not the final season of Yellowstone, as there will still be a sixth one. That means that there is still a chance that Cole Hauser might end up leaving the project after season 5, depending on what his character’s fate will be in the fifth season. With that said, let’s look at what we know about Cole Hauser’s character in Yellowstone season 5.
Is Cole Hauser Leaving Yellowstone?
Those who enjoy a good old American drama would really love Yellowstone because of how compelling the storyline is and how great the actors are at portraying their roles in this series. And the thing about Yellowstone is that this is a series that combines great acting with a storyline that focuses on a ranch that seemingly has a lot of issues that the family needs to fix both internally and externally.
While Yellowstone focuses more on the Dutton family, it also gives us a good look into the other supporting characters that play big roles. One such character is Rip Wheeler, who is portrayed by Cole Hauser. Rip plays the role of a ranch hand on the Dutton ranch and is also the love interest of Beth Dutton, one of the Dutton children living on the family’s ranch.
Rip ended up becoming one of the most popular characters in the series because of his overall character appeal and interesting storyline. And he has been one of the favorite characters since the first season, which began in 2018.
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been four seasons, as we are looking at the upcoming fifth season of Yellowstone. Cole Hauser has been working with the series since the very first season and has become one of the mainstays of Yellowstone. But does that mean that he will always be on the show? Will Cole Hauser ever leave Yellowstone?
At this point, it doesn’t seem like Cole Hauser is leaving the project anytime soon. That’s because he took part in the production of season 5 and is set to reprise his role in the fifth season as Rip Wheeler. This has already been confirmed, even though there have been rumors regarding Cole Hauser leaving Yellowstone. Nevertheless, neither Hauser nor the creator has said anything about the actor leaving the series.
In fact, Cole Hauser has been posting photos of himself on the set of season 5 of Yellowstone. That simply means that he will be returning to play his role as Rip Wheeler and is set to once again have a big role in the story of the Dutton family ranch and the drama that comes along with it.
Fans of Rip Wheeler should be excited to know that their favorite character isn’t going anywhere as far as season 5 is concerned. He will still be returning to the series in the newest season, as only time will tell what his role will be in season 5 and how many episodes he will appear in.
Will Season 5 Be Cole Hauser’s Last Season?
Despite the fact that Cole Hauser will be returning as Rip Wheeler in the upcoming fifth season of Yellowstone, not even he is sure of what his character’s future will be. So, does that mean that season 5 will be Cole Hauser’s final one with Yellowstone?
We all know that season 5 isn’t the final season of Yellowstone because there haven’t been any announcements in that regard. And that could mean that the series will most probably return for a sixth season in the future.
Meanwhile, as far as Hauser is concerned, he doesn’t want to know his character’s fate, and that’s the reason why he doesn’t know what will happen to Rip Wheeler in the future. He wants to keep playing the character because he has come to love going to work and playing Rip Wheeler. That means that he wants to play the role for as long as possible, especially if a sixth season is in the books.
“No, no, no, no,” Cole Hauser said. “Personally, just for me, if you’re asking me, I like to go to work and actually live and grow with the character and not know the end at all, you know. I want to be able to find those moments and live really in those moments whether it’s with Beth, whether it’s with John.”
In that regard, Cole Hauser wants to keep playing the role of Rip Wheeler for as long as possible, and that means that he himself doesn’t intend to leave Yellowstone. But the problem is that that isn’t always something he has a choice with because of the fact that it will still be up to the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, to decide what to do with Cole Hauser and Rip Wheeler.
It may be possible that he will continue to be a part of the series past season 5 if there will be a sixth season for Yellowstone. That’s something we will only know after season 5 finally premieres as we get to see Rip’s ultimate fate in the story. And if he manages to live through the fifth season, he should make a return for season 6 if Sheridan gets the green light for it.
